"I liked the characters. Not only are the main characters like real people, they could be anyone you meet. Lucy is a cross between the girl next door and a punk rocker, she has some issues, she's not perfect. Aiden is Greek God material to be sure, but he's not one hundred percent either. I just KNOW I'm going to love the Fated series and this book alone makes me a fan of Hazel Kelly!" - Hellen
"I actually laughed out loud from the sarcastic banter. These characters speak my language! The slow pace at which they discover they may have more than friendship between them is perfect, and allows the reader to become more engrossed with their epiphany. I cannot wait to read the next." - Amazon Customer
"Great read! Worth every minute! There's a really nice bond between Lucy and Aiden. As the story continues, it's obvious why they do so well together. Having a bond like theirs is rare. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. You can't just stop at this book!" - Amazon Customer
"I like both the characters. You find yourself smiling at their banter. You really get their friendship. This is a good start to a series." - Arrita S. Brooks
"Excellent character descriptions and building. Grabbed this readers attention. Anxious to read the next in the series. The ending wasn't too much of a cliff hanger, more of an invite to read more of the story." - Kindle Customer
"Loving the story and how you go back and forth between Lucy and Aiden. I fell for my best friend and we are now married almost 20 yrs. Being sucked into their story is almost as thrilling as mine! This one's BETTER!! Great storytelling! Can't stop reading them... already on the 3rd one!" - Gretchen
"I liked this story because it was REAL. It's well-written, of course, and the characters well fleshed-out. But what was really great is that it's not all billionaires and magically solved problems. It's a story with real problems - but also intelligent characters with philosophical discussions and communication to go with their uncertainties." - LauraCat
"Very entertaining, captivating, and interesting read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong characters. I want to read more from this author. I wish it was longer." - Kim F.
"Beginning to end this is a great story line for a first part in the series. I already love the characters and I'm in suspense of what's going to happen and how. I'm on to book 2. Can't wait!" - Amazon Customer

Spoiler alert : While the writer does a decent job setting the scene, and the characters are well developed this is really the first couple of chapters of a much longer book, the couple haven't even " fallen for " each other by the end of this download. Could I be bothered purchasing the next one? - probably not. If it took this long for the writer to not even get to this point in the story, I suspect the next 3 in the series of 5 will be just as unsatisfying
It will be a long time before I even consider looking at another work by this author.
Pros: I really like Kelly's writing. Both Lucy and Aiden seem like real people despite being characters in a book. Even their jobs, a hairdresser [Lucy] and Physical Therapist [Aiden], seem believable. Their interactions, conversations, and actions were exactly what I picture people today would act. I also like their use of tinder and the thoughts surrounding the dating app.
Cons: This book deals with a number of different topics; Self-Harm, Sexual Harassment, Eating Disorders, and Casual Sex. None of these get talked about or resolved. Also, Lucy discovers something about halfway in that she should have told him. I was waiting for the reveal but it never came and that just upset me. Also, The whole 'falling' part of the book takes place in the very last part of this novel and there's nothing that really gets the address and I was left wanting and unfulfilled.
One thing I do want to address is that this book is VERY short. It took me under an hour to completely finish it and I thought I had only received a sample of the book and actually couldn't believe that it just ended, however when I saw that there were 5 books it occurred to me that all the books may be really short. I got this book through Kindle unlimited so I was not too upset to discover this the length of this book. The actual price is 99 cents which isn't too bad, but I just thought I should warn you all.
I don't fault an author when books are short, I know it takes a lot of effort to write so I don't want to complain. I just want to tell you everything. Overall, I will continue the series but now I'll be more prepared with the shortness of the book.

Lucy and Aiden have been best friends ever since they were little kids so they both know pretty much everything about each other, but there is one thing that Lucy has managed to keep hidden from him and that is her true feelings about him.
Over the years Aiden has been there for Lucy when she needed him, even when she lost her mom when she was younger he was still there no matter what. The only thing was that as they got older Lucy started to realise that she actually likes Aiden a whole lot more than she is letting on even though she keeps denying it and only her roommate can see through her. It's been quite a struggle for Lucy over the years seeing the amount of girls that he's been with because deep down she wishes that could be her but she doesn't want to even consider that as she truly values her friendship towards him.
Even though they are a lot older now and both are starting their careers they both still are dependant on each other when it comes to relationship problems or just problems in general. Aiden feels that only Lucy understands him more than anyone especially when he choose to give up playing sports but he knows that when he's around her that he can be himself, he doesn't have to pretend about anything.
After having an argument with his girlfriend Aiden really doesn't feel like going back to his apartment so he decides to go and see Lucy whilst she's at work. She is just closing everything up for customers but she still has a few things to do, so when she sees him she tells him to just take a seat and wait for her if he doesn't mind. They begin talking about how everything's going and he decides that he will finally let Lucy cut his hair, but then the atmosphere changes in ways that they don't expect it too.
Will Aiden ever realise that he's been looking for the wrong girl all this time or will he just continue seeking his best friends advice when it comes to women. And will Lucy keep her feelings deeply hidden or can her roommate persuade to just tell the truth.
Hazel Kelly's work just keeps on getting better and better, you really don't want to miss anything.
This book is well written but I really don’t like it when authors divide the plot over more then one book. It’s not the Lord of the Rings... the story could fit in one book easily!!!!
I’m not sure if I’ll buy the other ones.
The only problem is, it's a serial, so I had to download 5 books for one story. I just find that's a ploy to get more money from the readers.
She enjoyed it and thats all that matters really
Nice enjoyable read, can't wait to read book 2
