OMG- I tried to read slow so I can savor the story and pay attention to how it turns out, but no such luck. I abandoned work, read until I fell asleep and finished 20 minutes ago. This story was awesome.
Bailey and Devlin finally came out of the closet (pun intended😊)..we got to see how/ when it started (although reading that scene would have been sweet)..how long they've been connecting, and how their quick sexual interludes were slowly falling away to something more. Their story was awesome..Bailey had some demons she needed to exorcise and Devlin needed to come to terms with his past. Together, they'll be a formidable pair. Kind of like Trent and Tia.
Now- I'm not sure how I feel about Mr. Dane. At the end of the last book, I hated him..not as much as I hate his sister and mom- but you wanted him to be a bad guy too. I hate that his part in this book is making me question that. I learned some stuff and understood some stuff, but my anger and resentment holds me back from welcoming him into the fold. I think it's because he loves his mom and I can only see one way to end this and his loyalties are not on the side of the Donovan's. The whole family is in shambles, but we've got new hope for moving forward.
What I didn't like is the introduction of a new character. I have to review the family tree again to understand his role. Some moves Devlin made made no sense for a trained operative to do and a new story line and reason for her disappearance made no sense to me, but I'm anxious for spring to bring a close to this saga once and for all.
Loved this book..a few of the others weren't my faves, but I enjoyed this one- and you will too.
Bailey & Delvin had some kind of love thing going on. Bailey fights for what she wants and doesn't let up until she gets it. Delvin on the other hand was fighting for what he wanted, but didn't realize he wanted it, being Bailey.
Will that crazy as Roslyn be brought to her knees? Will Dane finally be accepted into the family? Will Delvin & Bailey marry and have a little one? Will Trent & Tia have that 2nd child? Can the Sr. Donavan's love stand the test of time with their wives and children?
Ms. AC Arthur you are awesome .
Untouchable, and lethal when provoked. This story demonstrated that there is someone for everyone. The kidnapping and almost losing Bailey
brought them together. When it was all said and done, when Orin tried
to kill Bailey, Devlin finally dropped his guard and that final week they gave it up and declared their love for each other. I can't wait to read Brynne's story. Loved it.
