I just loved this story it was full of such emotion, love and just a very touching read. This is a wonderful way to start a series with just enough to get you interested but not to much. It is just long enough to give you a taste with you wanting more. I love a story where it reminds us or re-teaches a lesson we might have forgotten. If we were all blind I do feel the world would be a better place, we might see things different and really reach inside ourselves to remember what is truly important. This is truly a wonderful story not your normal romance but a romance just the same. It is a story about what we think we want might not be what we want. What we see isn’t the way it is and sometimes if we just look beyond we might just find our hearts desire.

Cyril a singer who has made his way to the top of the charts when he was in a car accident with his girlfriend’s sister. He loses his eye sight and things go downhill from there. Said sister doesn’t want anything to do with him, he just isn’t whole anymore and she isn’t a baby setter. There is someone who does love him just as he is but he doesn’t see her. She takes things into her own hands in hopes he will see her as she really is. She makes plans and puts them in action, the only thing is Laura really isn’t her name and lords help her when he finds out who she is.

You have to love these character they are strong but weak. They see but they are blind to how things could be. They are funny and cute but have a lot to learn. Sometimes what we truly are looking for we have always seen but never really saw.

The author gives you a wonderful love story, with wonderful character. The words flows easy as the author pulls you in and you keep turning the pages to find out what she has in store for you.

Recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick read and enjoys romance in a different setting. Cyril and Laura/Emma are well developed characters, very likeable, interesting and good together. I liked the plot. Got drawn into Cyril' s world of adjusting to his life after the accident. Glad that Laura/Emma came around and into the picture. Liked the references to Paris life-- just enough to give me the feel of it without being too foreign or overwhelming. Thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romance.

This book is just the right length to read in one go. It’s the first novel I have read by Alix Nichols, and it won’t be the last. Although it’s part of the Bistro La Boheme Series, you can read it as a stand-alone with a happy end.

The author introduces us to Cyril, a famous French guitarist and singer, whose life has been altered completely by a car accident. It has left him scarred on the inside and the outside, and also blind. Enter a girlfriend who doesn’t want to be his “babysitter”, loyal friends with a cool bistro – and Emma, the heroine. Where everyone else either doesn’t know how to treat him or tries to avoid him, Emma knows just how to draw him out of his shell. You root for them as a couple, and they certainly have to face some difficulties until they get their well-deserved Happily Ever After.

What I liked most about this sweet-and-steamy story is the way Cyril’s blindness was portrayed. Sometimes you feel pity, sometimes you want to slap him, sometimes you completely forgot about his disability. It was interesting to see who helped him in which way. It was also nice that the author let us look into the every-day life of a blind person, and that she gave us glimpses of how Cyril was like in the past and how the accident has changed him.
Emma was a great character in her own right. It was wonderful to see things from her point of view too, and to understand her feelings for Cyril. The contrast between her and her sister couldn’t have been bigger, and it enhanced the plot.

If you’re looking for an easy but intelligently written read that combines believable, well fleshed out characters with a fluid writing style, then you’ll be happy with this book. There’s just enough backstory and detail to the story to make you forget everything else until you’ve read it from start to finish. And there are so many different emotions packed into the novel, so many ups and downs.

I liked this story. It was short but it was good. A very popular French singer loses his sight in a car accident. He is angry, hurt, bitter and not sure where his life is going. His girl friend, the love of his life, tells him that she really doesn't want to be a baby sitter and ends their relationship. He is making efforts to deal with his blindness. He has his family and his friends that are trying to help him. He has given up his music.

Then he meets Laura. They strike up a friendship and she seems to be near when he needs someone. The friendship turns to something more. Then they have a night together. From here on it would be too much to tell anything more. It was a very good story and I really enjoyed it. It is a bit sad but it is also very uplifting and has a very good ending. I recommend it.

Loved this book it has it all...the characters were warm, funny, and deeply emotional as they struggled to remake the past. I could not put this book down as I drank it in, in 2 days. To find love is a blessing, but to embrace and accept its gift is humbling! I highly recommend this read it is a keeper.
