Jen McLaughlin/Diane Alberts has kicked the wedding celebrations off with a bang. Form an orderly queue, as Tyler Dresco is our first groomsman up and this delectable Doctor has a bedside manner we would all appreciate...
Rewind 8 years to Mexico where our much younger and unwiser doctor gave his sister's best friend a night she would never forget. Christine Forsythe however would rather forget, as he bolted. When they arrive for Colton & Kady's wedding, older and wiser, avoidance isn't an option and it transpires Tyler has never forgiven himself for what he did...and neither has Christine.
There are so many tropes in this book that I loved; best-friends older brother, revenge, the love/hate relationship and the strong stubborn female lead going toe-to-toe with the brooding hero. And with all this comes a chemistry that burns; with bickering, snarkiness and arguments, Christine is the epitome of a fiery redhead and it's only a matter of time before the explosion occurs. Add in Tyler's dirty way with words and it will set those panties alight:
“I think if it were me you left with instead of him, I would’ve buried my c*** inside of you until you were too tired to stand, let alone leave with another man again”
But the passion also perfectly complimented with heartfelt, and as brooding, bossy and stubborn as Tyler is, Christine unleashes his compassionate, sensitive and caring side. He will make you sigh.
So, with completely loveable characters, sexy passionate antics, fight, fire, touching moments and the most perfect of epilogues, Dr. McBossy and Patient McClumsy get 5 stars from me. You know when you have a gut feeling about a series?Read more ›
A series become an addiction once the reader can't put the book down and is dying to read the next book, and all the authors in the Wedding Dare series have accomplished that. Moreover, Jen's Wedding Dare story is sexy, hot and definitely swoony. But it's also painful and it tells us the past that Tyler and Christine once shared leaving us wondering the whole story if these two would make it in the end and see past their old mistakes.
Christine, sister of another well-known character of Diane Alberts' books (Shillings Agency series), has always had a thing for her best friends' brother, Tyler. But she's trying to get over him, she even made a list, 'cause it's not healthy for her to keep comparing every man with Tyler and he's not an option after how he walked away all those years ago in Mexico.
However, Tyler's not that scared boy anymore and he's willing to show Christine how good they are together and how much sparks fly whenever they see each other. But, what's more important, he wants to show Christine that he's changed. That he's no longer the guy that runs to not have to face the problem.
Always the complete gentleman and trying to save everyone, Tyler has a hard time trying to convince Christine and redeem himself for walking away from her on Mexico. But secrets and new problems arise as they relationship grows from a dangerous and hot teasing to a intense relationship that is definitely more than lust.
I love this story 'cause Diane wrote it from both Christine and Tyler's point of view.Read more ›
This is the first book in the Wedding Dare series. Tyler is married to his job as a doctor and Christine is an investigate journalist with a knack for reading people which comes in handy with her job. Second Chance romances are some of my favorite romances and this doesn't disappoint. They both carry so much hurt and shame from that night years ago. I don't blame either of them for that. I just love Christine. She is a romance novel junkie and has made a sex list of things she wants to do at the wedding retreat which she got from all the romances she read. I liked that she was independent but depend at the same time. Tyler is always thinking of others before himself and he only lets himself lose control and get wild with Christine. His nickname for her is adorable. Christine is also the one who always takes care of Tyler when he doesn't think of himself.
Tyler and Christine have great banter and chemistry. The sexual tension was off the charts and it was so clear that these two belong together. It is so weird that he shoved her away in the past but now she is shoving him away. My favorite scene was when they had to camp in the woods. I am not going to say what happened because I don't want to ruin the story. The Epilogue is amazing, sweet, and perfection. I love the other characters and can't wait to read their books.
