Christine knew Kady's brother would be at the wedding, unfortunately she underestimated the feelings she still held for him. When Tyler makes it clear he wants her, she's not happy and mad at herself for wanting him. She brought a list of things she wanted to accomplish that week, and adds getting even with Tyler to the list. She is determined to make Tyler feel the same heartache she felt all those years ago. But Tyler makes her feel things no other man ever has and soon she can't get enough. Reluctantly she distances herself thinking he's going to break her heart again. Tyler is obviously upset thinking they had finally connected.

As I mentioned, I absolutely loved Tyler. Christine, not so much. Yes, years earlier Tyler ran leaving Christine at the worst time possible. Although it's no excuse, they were both young at the time - I think Christine was only eighteen. Tyler's character has grown and matured since then (remember eight years have passed) and he now knows what he wants and acknowledges and takes responsibility for his mistake. Even Christine knew he was sincere when he apologized. Christine however is very childish and vindictive. Her obsession with "the list" was ridiculous. There is a point in the story where Christine should be the one apologizing, instead its Tyler. In my opinion, both characters made mistakes, but only Tyler owned up to his. I guess it just boils down to me not particularly liking her character.
Overall, the story was good and Tyler was so sweet. It's always heartening watching a strong male drop his shields and open himself for love. I enjoyed seeing more of the other characters in this story and appreciated the loving bond between Kady and Tyler. I'm reading Brock's book next and can't wait. This series is a lot of fun.
I loved that this was a second-chance story between two people who clearly connected early on, but didn’t do anything with their attraction for one another through the years. Now they get to deal with what had happened between them in the past. I thought Jen McLaughlin put them through situations that had good balance of humor, heart, tension, and steam.
I’m really enjoying the Wedding Dare series a lot. I started with the prequel, Dare to Resist, and then I jumped to Best Man with Benefits. The stories can all be read as standalones. I will definitely keep reading on.
