Jaime had a rough life. Prison made life a struggle for him, when he got out, because he was acclimated to his schedule and being overseen.
He and Erica did get what I thought they deserved. It was a nice finish to their story!
I really enjoyed this story. It was amazing reading the story from the male's POV. I sort of felt in the first book that maybe the male was really shady and just taking advantage of a young girl with out experience. So many times I felt like reaching thru the book and slapping some sense into her knowing in my heart that he was a full of lies and that her heart would be shattered in the end. The end of that book left off with me believing that that was 100% true. That he was a jerk who played her and that she would never really know the truth. To my surprise, the male ended up being a doll. Reading his POV I quickly realized what I thought was shady was a man struggling with a haunting past, a hard upbringing, and shame for the person he had become. I never would have imagined he meant all the things he told her and so much more that he could never bring himself to say.
This side of the story really gives you an insight to his home life, and to the person he is and most of all the person he wants to be. I quickly found myself in love with his family. I felt my heart ache knowing that he was literately in the wrong place at the wrong time and that needing to help his family ultimately changed his future forever. I loved his story of overcoming the darkness that consumed him and that despite the past his family helped pick him up and pushed him to be the man he wanted to be. I love that in the end he regretted nothing knowing the fate had truly put him where he was and that is was all for a reason. Now a educated man, with a reason to want to do better for himself he was able to do everything he had ever wanted and help him family in the process.
If you are looking for an outside of the box romance.. this is for you. I love that the story was so much deeper then him and her meeting and fighting petty personal demons before falling madly in love. These characters faced issues I could not even begin to imagine and fought to be together thru it all.
I highly recommend this series! Make sure to order Falling for Him (Book #1) and Falling for Her (Book #2) today!
Don’t you know there are always two sides to every story?
This story is told from Jaime’s POV and let me just say I absolutely LOVED what Amy did with this book. There are so many books out there now that are told from the male’s perspective but it is the exact same story using “he” instead of “she”. Choosing to go a different route, Amy allows her readers to really get to know the man behind the uniform. Who was he before he was a member of the Falcon club, before he met Erica? From the little bit we learned about him in Falling for Him, we know that Jaime had a hard life growing up but we weren’t prepared for how difficult. When I began reading this book I just wanted to jump through the pages and help Jaime and his family any way that I could. Jaime worked to help support his family but it was never enough. After meeting up with a high school buddy Jaime gets more than he bargained for. Trust me, when you meet Javier, you will hate him as much as I did. I want to say that it was Jaime’s actions that put him in prison, but I can’t. Javier left him no choice and sealed his fate for him.
It was interesting to me that this story didn’t have much dialogue in it, only when it was needed. Usually I get sidetracked when a story doesn’t have enough dialogue but Amy kept me interested with her descriptive writing. I felt as if I was a therapist and Jaime was sitting on my couch reliving the last 10+ years of his life.
I truly loved everything about this book and I am so happy that Amy decided to give us Jaime’s story. We know why he wasn’t available when Erica called him at the end of Falling for Him and we can truly appreciate the person that he has become, even after all the struggles he went through. The only thing I am a little upset about is that we don’t learn what happened to Javier. Amy left that open to interpretation and I want to believe that he got what was coming to him. J
