Addy is a nephrologist, a doctor who specializes in kidney care and treating diseases of the kidneys. She's just come back to work after having her daughter, Piper, who's now 10 weeks old, when her assistant lets her know there's a man to see her, a man who happens to be Piper's dad, a man who doesn't know he's a father...
Reading Jordan and Addy's journey from two people who barely knew each other, to co-parents, to lovers, is a nicely realistic, kind of emotional experience. Jordan and Addy have to get to know each other all while co-parenting Piper, and getting to know each other's respective families and wondering how they'll manage. Throw in Jordan's seriously psychotic ex-girlfriend to add in some drama, and Falling for Jordan becomes a well-rounded romance with a great secondary cast.
I love the blending of Jordan's Irish family with Addy's Filipino family at the end, talk about a great combination! Lots of food, lots of loud family members, and the sweet ending. If you like your romances with two interesting, realistic, well-drawn leads, an adorable baby, and two crazy families all sharing one granddaughter, 1-click Falling for Jordan today.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Whilst this is a shorter read it is still a very engaging and wonderful story. The novella has a small number of characters and scenes, allowing us to focus on Jordan, Addie and their relationship.
The author did a wonderful job of making me feel comfortable and familiar with both main characters. I also felt and believed in their passion for each other. I'm not always the biggest fan of 'insta-love' in a story but Addie's reactions and thoughts made it work for me in this book.
As with all good romances, the path wasn't all smooth sailing but Jordan managed to show Addie that he would never let her or Piper down. When I describe the story as 'sweet' I'm not meaning that it is a clean read but that it is a heart-warming, feel good read, without being cloying or contrived. There is plenty of steam in the book, some good interactions with family (which were so real and human in their content) and some well written in background to the characters.
The pace was good, I read the book almost in one sitting as it held my attention. The story felt full and complete and the plot was not cliched or predictable. This is a well written and very enjoyable story.
