I felt sorry for Rayne. She's rich, she's a famous concert pianist, and she's beautiful, but she's had a very sheltered and controlled life. Now that her parents are dead, she can live the life she wants to live--but she's also living a life in danger. She believes that her parents were murdered and someone seems to be after her.
Rayne is a likable character--one who finds joy in the journey and in the little things. I love how she's learning to be spontaneous and really comes into her true self. I also enjoyed getting to know her younger sister and their body guard. I can tell this is going to be a great trilogy! Garrett is a war vet and is fiercely protective of those he cares about. I love how he's very traditional, yet he's also in tune with his gut and what he needs to do. He's a funny guy and a manly man--just completely adorable.
This is a sweet, darling romance with some action and mystery included and I'm looking forward to the next book!
Content: mild romance (kissing); no language; mild religious elements; mild-moderate violence (beatings, attempted murder, shooting--no graphic details). Clean!
Falling for Rayne is A-MAZ-ING!! I absolutely LOVED it!!
Garrett has been a favorite of mine since the Love and Dessert trilogy and I was absolutely THRILLED to find out that he was going to get his own series with his very own HEA!! If anyone deserves one it's definitely him!! And of course Rayne does too!! She is completely PERFECT for him!! I just have to say that she was one determined little firecracker and I loved it!! They both kind of had a crappy childhood but being together makes them want to live... be happy... and just enjoy life! And seeing Rayne enjoying the little things in life just made my heart smile!! I'm always saying it's the little things that matter the most! :)
I'm loving all the characters in this series already! Ivy... Cleo... Becket... Asher... I am SO excited for their stories! I have my thoughts on how things are going to work out and I'm secretly hoping I'm right... ;) Hehe. I foresee twists... turns... and secrets... ;)
And the little added mystery?! Very intrigued and also have a few suspicions... I don't want to give anything away but I think it's going to be a bit surprising to see how it all ends. Graham and Liam are just creepy and I know we haven't seen the last of them... *shivers*
Shannon... you are AMAZING!! Once again you sucked me in and I just could not stop reading once I was finally able to do so!! I already want to re-read this book again!! And the other series for the 3rd time this year!! ;) Hehe. And after reading this book I have to say that Falling for Rayne was indeed the PERFECT title!! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series... let the adventures continue!! ;)
In "Falling For Rayne" we have Garrett and Rayne. Garrett has been one of those wonderful side characters who is now being given HIS time in the spotlight. We have Rayne and 2 other young ladies who come to town. We have more drama in this story than I've felt in the other books so Shannon has given us so yet a new dimension to her writing skills. I won't spoil the enjoyment by giving anything away but the tension felt real and it was just wonderful to see how it developed. I LOVED this book and can't wait to read book #2.
What Ms. Guymon is going to have to promise her devoted readers is that she won't leave this town for good and will give us more stories to satisfy our clear love for all who exist in the world of Fircrest, Washington. I can ask at least :-).
I have NEVER been given a free book by Shannon and she has NEVER asked me for my review. I am so happy to write this and I want to encourage those of you who love a good, clean romance to run, not walk, to buy this and her other books set in this lovely town. You will not be disappointed to have spent this money or the reading time enjoying these wonderful books. Amazing job Shannon! denise bailey
