Ella Cross, known to the public as movie star Raven Star, is ready to leave Hollywood behind, and hopefully her stalker, when she is abducted on her way out of town and kept for two days before escaping. She is still in contact with childhood best friend Mila, and decides to move into Mila's old house and start a new business and begin living a new life away from the press. Trent is a fireman who works with Kyle and lives across the street from them, and he has his own demons to battle, including helping to raise his nephew Blaze as his sister struggles with drugs and is in and out of rehab.
Falling Star follows their paths to each other and the battle for both of them to overcome their personal issues for the hope of a better future with one another. Just as they seem to get a handle on their budding relationship, Ella's stalker comes back and begins terrorizing her once again.
From the first chapter, this book built suspense that lasted until the last pages. I loved getting another look into Mila and Kyle's life, and Trent's nephew Blaze may be the cutest kid ever. I thought Rivers did a fantastic job of building Ella and Trent's relationship throughout the book. I can't wait for more!!!
* I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review of this book, and that in no way effected my opinion. Even with the ARC, I still purchased this book as soon as it went live.
Raven has had it with Hollywood and her stalker. She is on her way out of town when she is ambushed by her stalker. He held her for two days. After escaping and recovering physically, she is harassed by the press to the point she quits forever. She arrives in Lakeridge as Ella Cross to start over. When she literally runs into Trent he can see she is terrified, but he has no idea why. As they get closer, he learns more and they both become a little paranoid, but for different reasons. If these two can just communicate the sparks may build into an inferno. But with the secrets and assumptions a lazy breeze could blow them over.
Favorite passage: “Let me be your rock… your foundation… your safe haven.”
