The story itself is not that fascinating; however, considering the importance of introducing common sense and healthy dose of de-toxification from religions that are absolutely needed in our children's lives, the book plays an important role in opening one's eyes to the mind-abuse that is religious superstition and ought to be part of school curriculum.

What I like best is it clearly shows what a control freak the Abrahamic "God" is. And why I don't ascribe to such fairy tales.

Hammond’s art and story telling are magnificent. His style, visually, reminds me a bit of Joe Madureira, but with a ton more detail. The story line provides a new take on the first few books of the Pentateuch and how we should all be keeping a reluctant side-eye on God.

Very good and it's akashic records as well. Not as beautiful as the action bible.

Excellent graphic novel, frequently echoing my own confusion with the Christian religion. Well-drawn, though fans of Dragonball might find some hilarious similarities between the two. If you’ve wanted an alternate look at a famous book, look no further

Hammond tells the story of the Archangel Samael who reminds readers that history is written by the victors. As we learn about Samael’s journey, he grapples with “the concepts of free will, subjective truth and predestination.” While he longs for his own freedom, he’s constantly reminded that God controls his destiny.
I may be biased, having edited the book, but it’s a fascinating depiction of religious literature that reminds readers there isn’t just one way to read the Bible — or even one character whose perspective is worth considering.
In The Falling Star, published by Hypatia Press (which I co-founded in 2017), author and illustrator Jon Hammond offers a unique story that stays true to the original texts as much as possible.

2 sides to every story and the side we've been fed for 1000's of years is contradictory

Very interesting perspective. You can't help but feel Samael's frustration at the inadequacy of his so called omnipotent creator

I've always wanted to hear Satan's side of the Biblical account and honestly this does a very good job. I can't wait for the next book to be released!
