Sometimes we meet the right person at the wrong time in our lives. That's what happens in Xio Axelrod's Falling Stars on the set of We the People--the fictional TV show set where Val and Sam, two actors on the opposite spectrums in their careers, meet and fall in love.

One of the things that I love most about Falling Stars is the spot-on character development. Both Val and Sam are fully-fleshed characters whose flaws make them all the more real. As we follow their relationship (and their attempts to remain platonic when it's already written in the stars that they should be together), we get to know what makes them tick and we understand immediately why they resist and why they are tempted to give in.

I also loved the behind the scenes look at life on the set of a popular TV show. This aspect of the story adds context and complexity to the situation Val and Sam find themselves in--they are actors who play lovers, they are falling in love in reality but trying to hide it. The reader feels like she gets an insider's look at Hollywood and how life in Tinseltown can be life in a fishbowl.

Xio does a great job of handling the struggle for Val--and especially for Sam--as they both try to do the right thing. They want to be together, but they can't--not when Sam is still married--but the chemistry between them is off the charts and they are drawn to each other time and again.

I loved Falling Stars--this is definitely one of my favourite books of 2015. It's a beautifully written love story that will challenge and intrigue you. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Xio Axelrod gives us a window into life with all it's messy twists and turns. Sam and Val are actors thrown together for a TV series. Their attraction is instant and mutual. Sam is married and has never strayed. Val has worked hard to achieve her stardom, never once allowing herself to sleep her way to the top. Soulmates with integrity meeting at the wrong time. Falling Stars gives us many questions to ponder, but most important is: How long do you dance around the elephant in the room? This is a love story that reminds us that the heart has reasons only the heart understands. BRAVO!!!

The writing is decadent. This book is extremely well-written and the writer weaves a tale of complex characters, sizzling chemistry, and deep emotion in a story that explores second chances and the price of following your heart and holding out for your happy-ever-after. Sam and Val's story will keep you glued to your e-reader and leave you thinking about them long after you've reached the end. Cannot wait for Book 2 and the continuation of their story!

Have you ever read something so beautiful and tragic it takes you deep within yourself and leaves you searching? Well, Sam and Val did just that for me. Left me wanting more. Left me clinging and flipping pages trying to see where the end would lead. Beautifully written and the characters are so lively... I'm highly anticipating Starlight!!!!! Beautiful, beautiful... Sam and Val are special, and everyone who reads this book will see it.

Well written, beautiful imagery, realistic scenes from the 'script' writing to the dialog between Sam and Val, Sam and Karen... I felt some shades of ShondaLand and the popular show reminiscent of 'Scandal'. I love the re-imagination in fiction form! Can't wait to read part two!

I love this book. Not only because of the story which makes us all think about how two people fall in love at the wrong possible time and the consequences not only to them, but to the world around them. These two create chaos in the simple act of falling for each other and my heart breaks as they struggle through the consequences. Well done, Xio.

I bought this book today and finished it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. I just felt everything Sam and Val were feeling. These characters are everything. This is the first book I have read from this author and I can't wait until the second book comes out.

This is my first read by Ms. Axelrod which is very much reminiscent of the TV Show Scandal. While considered taboo you just cannot help rooting for Val and Sam to get together despite Sam being married. Val is younger and has so much going for her in Hollyweird. She truly has her pick of young hot unattached studs, however, the chemistry between this couple is sizzling. Some readers may find the subject matter of cheating or potential cheaters abhorrent, however, the way in which Ms. Axelrod writes this tale is very tasteful and done with a twist. The book does end on cliffhanger and although I am not a fan of these types of “endings” the book was so well written that it ensures that I will definitely read the next installment of this series.
