My reasons for that: (Might contain slight spoilers about the content of the story, though I don't put a summary of the story in my review, as I feel that is the job of the authors to provide in their book description.)
The editing was flaky, both with errors and wrong details.
The errors I could overlook or accept, as English is not my first language, but they kept taking you out of the story unnecessarily.
But what really annoyed me, were the logical errors in the story. The vomit that never is bothered with. The room must stink abominably by now.
The heroine being bound to the bed, but managing to turn around for vomiting, but only later discovering that she was bound to the bed.
Her changing shackles, from iron to rope.
Her being bound, than being able to move her hands, so the belts must have been removed again in the meantime.
Also her hands were bound at her front, but she could not use the toilet alone. Why? In a normal range of movement, she could have done so. It was never made clear, why she could not, even if her hands had been bound at her back.
Her being able to hear a car, while being in a soundproof room.
There were so many details not adding up, that the faulty reasoning of the hero just remains as a minor flaw in the story.
Additionally, I found the build up to the story rushed and I never got, why hero and heroine fell for each other. The reasons are hinted at, but you don't get it from the story, but need to continue and build a continuation of the story alone in your head, to get a sufficient reasoning. If I read a story, I don't want to need to build my own.
The storyline itself was nice and could have been executed so much better. So I think this project had been inadequately rushed and released too soon.
The author team normally is doing so much better, and that is the reason, why I still give the story three stars.
I hope their next project together will get more attention to detail again.
(As so many reviews nowadays are bribed by free copies, I feel the need to mention, that I paid the full price for this e-book and don't know either of the authors.)
Mason and Oliva are amazing!! You can feel the chemistry from the very beginning.
It amazes me how you're able to feel all of the characters emotions as if they are your own.
The sex as always is panty melting and the added effect of your captor's hold... I thought it was mind blowing!!
Jenika and Sam and truely amazing writers!!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book
Mason would do anything to protect and take care of his sister, but he needed money to make sure that she lived. So he decided to kidnap Olivia and ransom her off.
What he didn't see coming was that the person she was he would fall in-love with her and regret what he did. But he also didn't understand why she wasn't close to her family and why she thinks they wouldn't pay her ransom
Short, fast paced story, liked it more towards the end when all the action was happening.
