From the Author
With this third novel, the Retreads take a left turn into the near (possible) future. I guess you could say it's part cautionary tale, like One Second After
or Alas, Babylon
. But at its core it's still a story of smart, exceptional men with the skill and moral fortitude to work together against incredible odds.
I remember a quote at the end of a film adaptation of War and Peace
. Don't know if Tolstoy actually wrote it, but it was something like: "If evil men can work together to accomplish evil; why can't good men work together to accomplish good?"
This one's for you, Tolstoy.
