Top Customer Reviews

Format: Hardcover
This is an excellent and engaging book.

It is the companion to a television series which appeared on PBS and BBC.

While written 20 years ago, it remains fresh and engaging, with wry observations on the nature of fame and self promotion.

The last two decades only confirm James' observations on the cults of "fame" and "celebrity".

The writer has a witty style, and a dry sense of humor, combined with a keen sense of observation.

At the Amazon price, this is a good buy for an entertaining and thoughtful read.
