About the Author

Tilly Bagshawe was born in London and raised in a large family in the English countryside. She enrolled at Cambridge University and later launched a successful career as a headhunter in London. At twenty-six, she became the youngest-ever partner in the number-one global search firm, before changing course to pursue a writing career. After a brief stint at the Sunday Times, she followed her novelist sister’s example and wrote her first book. Today she is a happily married mother of four and author of ten novels, including Adored, Showdown, and Sidney Sheldon’s Mistress of the Game. In addition to her bestselling novels, Tilly has contributed to numerous British newspapers and magazines including Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Elle, The Sunday Times, The Times, and The Daily Mail. She divides her time between Los Angeles, London, and Nantucket.

The first Tilly Bagshawe book I read was her last release entitled Scandalous. As a lover of all chick lit type books it was right up my street. I have to be honest and say that I was really looking forward to this latest release and was excited to receive it a few days ago.

At 560 pages it looked an average size book and the cover had a rather slender and glamorous woman posing on a sun lounger, it looked like just my kind of book. Thankfully as soon as you start reading you are drawn into the fabulous world of the stars in the book. Sabrina Leon is the first character we meet and she is sassy, strong and has a very big mouth. Of course I instantly liked her!

We also meet the rather handsome but slightly brooding Viorel who is also an actor looking for his next big part. Dorian Razmirez is the glue that bonds them all together. With his rival Director Harry Greene snapping at his ankles, Dorian is determined to get his new film off the ground with the stars he thinks will make or break his movie.

Tish Crewe is a woman that runs her own orphanage in Romania and is called back home to England to try and salvage the family home that her brother now owns. With her brother off gallivanting Tish decides to take her son Abel and stay the summer back at Loxley Hall and try to repair and salvage what is left of the beautiful stately home that has been in her family for many years.

As the movie Dorian is making coincides with Tish's life, the fireworks really begin. I literally couldn't put this book down. You could almost feel the tension, tantrums and inevitable upheaval between the characters coming. The characters were all written so well that I liked each of them for various reasons and although none of them were perfect they all had redeeming qualities.

I wanted to like this book...really. I enjoyed the premise of the story...the struggle and growth of the characters and the first part of the book was very enjoyable. But the ending was so rushed and honestly depressing. None of the " bad guys" got their just desserts which I might have been able to deal with had I enjoyed the other characters' happy endings more. Both couple's romances seemed sudden and unbelievable. And Bio was so utterly unrepentant and high handed that I actually hoped Fish would dump him. But no, she had to be your typical weak-minded, useless without a man heroine. Really the only one I felt had been redeemed was Sabrina who I hated for most of the book. I will be deleting this book and have no desire to read more by the author.

As always Tilly Bagshawe latest book is brillant. From start to finished I was hooked. Quite a few characters and it was great to getting to know them in the book. As normal quite a few love affairs which keeps you wanting to turn on to the next page to find out what is going to happen next.

Sabrina- was picked for fame a very young age, fame getting a better of her, which the leads her astray and a video shocker brings its all crashing down with a bump. Until Dorian gives her a chance of playing lead role in Wuthering Heights but the catch is she will not get paid. Will this give her fame another boost.

Dorian gets his A listed lead man to play Heathcliffe - Viorel, but of a cost of 5 millon pounds.

All Dorian needs to find his perfect English country house. But with the perfect english country house could there be trouble with the locals especially with the lady of the house.

OMG- to borrow the words used by the heroine of my latest release, "I give Fame 5 overflowing, expensive champagne flutes!" I absolutely LOVED this book. It has been a very long time since I read a book that I thought about so often even when I wasn't reading.

Fame centered around the movie industry and the players in Hollywood from directors competing for the Academy Awards for best director and best picture, to the young, beautiful, talented and troubled actors, to the jealous and insecure spouses, to the ins and outs of creating and funding a movie. There was romance, intrigue, steamy sex, cat fights and back stabbing. There were also twists and turns and heart warming character development. I loved how unpredictable it was and that even though I knew how I wanted things to end up, I was never quite sure I was on track with the author. I'm happy to say that as far as the romantic elements were concerned, the author did not disappoint me at all.

Fame reminded me of the books I used to read in the late 1980s and early 1990s from Jackie Collins (Lucky), Judith Krantz (I'll Take Manhattan) and Sidney Sheldon (Master of the Game). I didn't think authors wrote those types of books anymore but I am so glad to find I was wrong. And I might have to re-read the above books now. Very happy to have discovered Ms. Bagshawe and cannot wait to read more from this extremely talented author.

I'm the first to admit I give up easily on books that don't grab my attention. There's too many books and not enough years in my life. The little bit that I did read of this felt too forced. It just seemed like it was trying to hard to be edgy and sexy and mysterious all at once. And there wasn't a single character I cared enough about to continue reading. I really like Bagshawe's 'Adored' so I was really disappointed with this one.
