It started good with an abrupt twist—an innocent misunderstanding threatening to ruin everything before things even got off the ground. Later, about mid point in the story, I was absolutely in awe of the wonderful scene between pro athlete Travis, and kid in foster care Jayden. Such a beautiful open hearted talk they had—Eli Easton at her best.
The other parts of this family oriented story were too fluffy for me. Perhaps influenced by the fact I didn't really like Geo's personality all that much. Let's just say I didn't share his sense of humour. Or because the kids and fellow campers in the story got as much time in the spotlight as the love story. The latter wasn't necessarily a bad thing, just not what I personally wish for in a romance.
And that's why it's so fun!! (and Geo is so Cute!!❤ I laugh because of him a lot)
Around the first 70% of the book, you will be able to experience many activities at the camp and feeling the bond building between Geo and the kids, and between Geo' family with Travis.
The main theme of this book is Family and it stays true to its title, so you will get so much of family love which balancing so well with romantic love.
Thank you to the author for this.
Ms.Easton's works always deliver a beautiful story with good balancing,
that's why she is one of my automatic-buy-authors.
I love m/m love stories and I read a lot of good ones - on Archive of Our Own. But recently it's seemed that every time I've bought a book of original fiction it's been badly written with flat characters and contrived plots.
So discovering this delightful sexy and well written book has restored my faith in "real books". I'll definitely be buying the next in the series and checking out the author's back catalogue.
When I started reading Family Camp by the amazingly talented Eli Easton I never thought I could smile so damn much. I was smiling whether the story was about Geo bonding with his two kids, Jayden & Lucy or about Travis trying, unsuccessfully, to stay away from Geo. Eli Easton did such an amazing job writing Family Camp and I can't wait to continue reading this series about single dads.
