Eve winds up getting stranded on a wintery road and Tom comes to her rescue. Eve is a very driven young woman who has thrown herself into her work since the death of her parents 18 months ago. Tom is a man who has sworn off women since his wife walked out on him and his little girl. He recognizes Eve's type because that was him before Polly, his daughter was born. Polly sees Eve, this woman who has fallen into their lives as a mother that she has never had. Polly knows her dad loves her, but she wants Eve to stay with them forever, not just for the night. She quickly becomes attached to Eve and so does Tom. He finds himself at ease with having Eve around him and his little girl
When the snow lets up and Eve's car can be fixed, will Tom be a fool and let her go or will he be brave enough to tell Eve about his feelings for her? Can two strangers really have that strong of a connection?
Please read this wonderful story to find out what happens to these characters. I highly recommend this story.

I love all of Helen Scott Taylor books, and this one did not disappoint. Her romances are sweet and engaging. The character sprang to life on the page and had me cheering for their happy ending. I recommend A FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS for all the incurable romantics out there (like me)!
What I look for in Christmas romances is a quick and satisfying read but mostly a complete setting, one that satisfies the yearning for tradition, family and feelings that the holiday generates. For me, this story has satisfied all three. In particular, I found the growing relationships between Eve and Polly, Eve and her distant sister-in-law and brother, and Eve with her "lost" self, very appealing. All the characters grow and develop well and by the end of the story, we have our happy ending. Good job!
This story is all about the true meaning of Christmas. The daughter, Polly, is so endearing and as a very real life-like child of today, as are all the characters in the story, including Pickles! There were no sexual scenes, yet... you could feel a very real genuine love slowly build between the couple.
Would I recommend this book? Yes, most definitely.
