“Voddie Baucham has written an insightful and convicting book challenging parents to prioritize the spiritual development of their children. Only read this book if the salvation and sanctification of your children is of the utmost importance to you.”
—Tony Evans, Co-founder and Senior Pastor, Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship
“Every Christian parent ought to read Family Driven Faith. I’ve never encountered a book on family life that compressed so much biblical teaching, provocative thinking, sound theology, and practical help in one volume.”
—Donald S. Whitney, Professor of Biblical Spirituality, Associate Dean of the School of Theology, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary; author, Family Worship
“Sending young people out into the world without a biblical worldview is like sending an athlete onto the field without a playbook, says Voddie Baucham. Yet few Christian parents even hold a biblical worldview to pass along to their children. Family Driven Faith gives parents winning principles to disciple children who will grow into spiritually mature adults capable of influencing all spheres of society.”
—Nancy Pearcey, Author, Total Truth: Liberating Christianity from Its Cultural Captivity

In all, this book might be considered radical in today's culture, but let's face it, "normal" isn't working, and hasn't been for a long while. Voddie's call to basic Biblical teaching in the face of a culture that opposes God's truth, is clear and courageous. I heartily recommend this book to anyone trying to raise a family in the 21st century.
There are two things I appreciated highly in this book. First, it is a plethora of knowledge backed up by Bible verses or statistics. Second, he leaves plenty of room to disagree. He acknowledges that this is not a one-size-fits-all rule book, but rather something to inspire thought and action toward something more biblical.
This book was a great deal more balanced and fair than I suspected it would be. It recognizes the problems that most youth pastors are already fully aware of without attacking the youth pastor. It instead gives some helpful action steps that we can begin to implement now to begin to turn the cultural tide back to a biblical worldview of the family.
