Lakon Montgomery is a man of many faces. He's a world-famous singer, a composer, and the Beta of the Montgomery Wolf Pack. He can have any woman he wants, be she human or of were blood. So why is he so fascinated by the human, Mya Brooks? She and her twin brother are just part of his road crew, so why is her scent driving him crazy? Is it possible that this small human woman is his mate? The only way to find out for sure is to spend some up-close and personal time with her. This will not be as Lakon thinks, for Mya's been hurt and abused in the past, and doesn't trust any man except for her brother Myles.
Mya Brooks never thought in a million years that a man like Lakon Montgomery would be interested in her. She's kept her distance from men because of abuse in her past, and Lakon is so overwhelmingly male. But when Lakon sets his mind to wooing her, she let's her heart rule her head. He is so tender and patient with her, and promises never to use his strength against her. Lakon is everything she ever wanted, and never thought to have. How can she help but fall in love?
Lakon and Mya are starting to create a life together when Lakon's primal instincts are set off by the teasing of his brother Riker. Determined to show that Mya is his in every way, Lakon takes her and marks her with his bite a little more roughly than he intended to. Mya isn't sure what's happened, all she knows is he hurt her when he swore never to do so. When Mya inadvertently learns of Lakon's werewolf nature, it makes a little more sense, but she's still afraid. Deciding the best thing to do is to leave for a while, Mya takes off after saying goodbye to her brother.
Lakon wants Mya back and sets out to find her. He will do anything in his power to win back his mate. Wolves mate for life and without Mya, Lakon's life will be empty. Will Mya ever be able to trust him again? Can she forgive what his primal nature caused him to do?
Family Harmony by J.J. Massa is the second in the Montgomery Family Series. It can be read on it's own, though several of the characters of the first book, Acting Like a Family, have major story lines. Family Harmony was an emotionally charged story. Mya is dealing with overcoming past abuse and Lakon has to be extremely careful with her physically and emotionally. It is also a story about forgiveness. The chemistry between Lakon and Mya is tender, sweet, but also very passionate. Together Lakon and Mya make beautiful music, both literally and figuratively. Family Harmony is a wonderful edition to The Montgomery Family Series, one all werewolf aficionados will enjoy!

Another emotional roller coaster! Ms. J.J. has succeeded in another great book! I couldn't put this one down. Characters that are so likable and relatable. Lakon has met his mate and shes been under his nose for awhile. Beautiful and talented, Mya has taken Lakon by storm. Hes amazed by her and intrigued! Shes a puzzle and one he's all to happy to figure out. Danger stalks Mya and Lakon puts his foot in his mouth. Mya takes off and Lakon can't find her. Mik, Lakon's dad, steps in, pulls the family together and helps. Lakon did his mate wrong and has to grovel. Will she accept his apology and learn to trust him again? Family trouble, danger stalking, love fracturing and a brother sick. J.J. knows how to keep the punches coming and the plot rolling!
Lakon Montgomery, Grammy winning singer/songwriter and werewolf has just been blown away. Blown away by the voice of one gorgeous, seductive, brunette roadie completing a sound check prior to one of his concerts. He has to know who she is and where she comes from. As he gets closer to her, he realizes that she is his mate and that he is never going to let her go. However, his inner beast may have the last word because it doesn't like competition and the results are devastating.
Mya Brooks and her brother are in hiding. They are hiding from parents who only want them for their talents. She has no reason to think that her employer, Lakon Montgomery, would ever be interested in her. When she comes face to face with Lakon, she is unable to resist his charm and they find themselves falling in love and locked in passionate embraces. Mya is unaware of the fight going on within Lakon and so doesn't know to resist touching another male, even if it is done in play and even if it is his twin brother. Because of this, Lakon lashes out at Mya, and she runs away. The only problem is that evil continues to stalk the Montgomery's and now it has turned its face towards her.
FAMILY HARMONY packs a good punch and leaves you satisfied. It is powerful and although the second of J. J. Massa's Montgomery Family tales, it can be read alone and understood. As for the characters, I found myself cheering for Mya to get away from Lakon and then realized what I was doing! Then, as I read further, I wanted Lakon to find her and show her just who her mate was. Add in the suspense of a stalker and evil family and you have the recipe for a great book.
Once I started reading FAMILY HARMONY, I couldn't put it down until the very last word. I love how the characters, especially Lakon's dad, were written. I also like how Ms. Massa leaves you wanting to read the next book in the series. All in all, it was an enjoyable book and I look forward once again to reading more from J. J. Massa.

After helping his brother Riker find his mate, Lakon winds up running around after Mya, a stagehand for his brother's band. Mya is very skittish, so Lakon tries to be as gentle as possible, but his inner wolf gets out and almost destroys their budding relationship, that and Mya's brother really wants to hurt Lakon for what he's done to his sister. It doesn't help matters that his brother Riker shows up and plays big bad alpha and throws Mya into a tail spin.
As far as werewolf books go there are a lot better out there on the market. It's basically a romance novel with a few wolf analogies added in to remind you that, yes, this is about werewolves. At some point in the book they bring out the family lineage where dad is a wolf all the time and can't shift, mom is nosy in her kids life type, cousins coming out of the wood works.
The book starts throwing names out so if you haven't read the first one Acting like Family you might get a little confused. Short story, not a lot of effort given to make you feel for the characters much.
On a rainy day or sick day with nothing better to do, in 2-3 hours you can read Acting like Family (Riker/Beth), Family Harmony (Lakon/Mya) and A Family Portrait (Tavist/Tracy).
