It's long time since I'd had these and they were not as sweet or thick as I remembered. I made and enjoyed a whipped cream refrigerator cake. If I hadn't had a wish to experience an old favorite, I never would have paid the price for a box of cookies I used to buy at the A & P (all year as I recall). All that being said, it would have been a lot more worthwhile if they had been properly packed. They came packed in with an Amazon order that was a heavier item. Instead of putting some fine bubble wrap around the delicate cookies and then putting them in with the heavy item, they just put the box of cookies in and some of the big plastic pillow-type bubbles. Half the chocolate wafers were broken. I was disappointed, but my 'craving' for a refrigerator cake was satisfied.

I needed these for a recipe and couldn’t find anything similar in the grocery store so I ordered them. They’re pretty gross to just eat plain, but they worked well in the recipe I was making. They’re kind of like the cookie part of an Oreo, but thinner, crunchier, and not as sweet.

Loved when my mom would make a Refrigerator Cake with these wafers! Hard to find in stores today in most places (Haven't found them in over 10years). Had a recent urge to make this cake, and ordered them here. Good thing I order 4 boxes, because at least half or more of the wafers were broken. Out of the 4 boxes I had enough wafers to make a cake that was usually made from 2 boxes (even from the store we always had a "few" broken). Sadly, the cost to loss ratio on this is just too high.
