My 2011 copy of 'Famous Faces' has a cat with wistful green eyes on the cover, who is a dead ringer for Audrey Hepburn in her role as Holly Golightly. Within this book's super-sized, 95 pages, over 40 pets are photo-shopped to resemble celebrities both living and dead, BUT none of them are identified. As the text rather coyly puts it (no doubt in hopes of placating the legal community):

"These are real pets, not real celebrities. The well-known individuals have not had any involvement in the creation of the images and they have not approved them, nor has their approval been sought for the publication of these images."

You have to guess who each pet-turned-celebrity is supposed to be (there is no key at the back of the book, either.) This is what makes "Famous Faces" so much fun. I trotted it out when company came over, and we attempted to guess which celebrity the dog, cat, hamster, or other unidentifiable rodent was made up to resemble. I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard, by the time we were finished.

Some of the photos are obvious: a spaniel Charlie Chaplin; a 900-year-old Sphinx cat wielding a green light sabre, who appears to be saying: "No! Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try;" and my favorite--a jewelry-laden Mastiff who is the spitting image of Mr. T.

Other photographs are not so obvious. I tentatively identified a couple of dogs as Dame Margaret Thatcher, but was rudely voted down by the other contestants. There is a red-wigged rodent with a lightning bolt painted between his eyes, who must be a super hero, but which one? There are oodles of pop singers that readers forty years my junior will probably instantly recognize. I'm 90% sure the fez-topped rodent is King Farouk.

This book was such fun, when we have company, we pull it out and have people guess who is who. My only negative is that there were a couple of photos that we were not sure as to who they were and no where in the book does it tell you, who is who, no matter, this book is really entertaining.

I gave this book as Christmas presents to 3 of my friends and each let me know immediately that it was a hit!
Famous faces is a small coffee table book that features photographs taken of cats and dogs costumed like celebrities.
Guaranteed to get laughter out of even the saddest person!
    Highly recommend

    Hi,
I regret to inform that my parcel was left on my sites front door and it has been received by me by mistake. If any other person saw it before me, they can easily take it to their own house. I really do not understand why delivery guy did not deliver it directly to me and leave it our front door. normally, they have to take my signature and deliver it. If they did not find me at that time, they should leave a notice and inform me that they came but did not reach me. I am really disappointed about this and really thinking about if I should re-order for new things or not...

If you can contact with your Turkey post office and make me clear about this issue, I can keep ordering books.

    thanks,
    esra

Famous faces is a funny and creative book containing cats, dogs and guinea pigs dressed as famous people. It includes Gaga, Katy Perry, Mr T, KISS, Abba, Andy Warhol etc. I wish it told you who each was because there were a few I didn't get and therefor don't know who they are meant to be. Thanks for a laugh!

This makes a great conversation coffee table book. Brought it out during a dinner party and we had so much fun guessing the celeb pets!

This was a great book. I bought it as a present and it's all anyone wanted to look at all night. Great pictures, but you do have to guess who is being portrayed- they is no cheat sheet.
