To thine own self be true. This last quote is one I truly try to live my life by and I think this sums up Vanna B's debut novel. Fill with all the suspense of a story befitting of a person trying to find themself.

This bittersweet chaotic tale brings out the very best of Vanna B's work, from her detail and her sprightly dialogue to her plot which is believable yet unbelievable (if you know what I mean).

All in all this book will entice you to get the part 2 asap (getting mines b4 the end of the month)as you continue to root for the girl whose quest for her identity amidst a background of stress can remind you and me of our own journey along the road of life.

I heard about this title during an interview with the Author and I just had to read it. It did not disappoint. It was as good as everyone was saying it was. The characters were very believable and we all know a "Fancy" to some degree. She wasn't a character that you rooted against because she knew her shortcomings and tried her best to overcome them, she just seemed to be having a hard time sticking to her plans. Every time it seemed as if Fancy would make it over her hurdles, another one was thrown in her path; the biggest one coming at the conclusion of the story. Immediately I wanted to read Fancy 2, but decided to wait so that I could meet the author in person, purchase a signed copy and congratulate her on a job well down. Great job Author Vanna B!

I purchased this book based on my fellow Amazon reviewers. It was a good story that held my attention from the beginning. Here we find Fancy, a young woman who finds herself so caught up in keeping up with haute couture that she loses herself. When she faces adversity, it is then she realizes that such a fashionable lifestyle isn't worth it and she begins to find her true self aka Maribel. Along the way, Maribel discovers who her real friends are and those who have it in for her. Read and find out who has Maribel's back and who is willingly out to betray her at the same time. I liked the positive message that the author sends out. For labels don't make up a person ,it is what on the inside that counts and everything else is superficial. Overall , job well done and I will definitely order the second part of this book.

Maribel Alvarez AKA Fancy is a girl who claims to have it all. She has the looks, is well known in all the major circles, and has a closet full of designer clothes. However, this is all for show. The real Fancy lives in the hood in her mother's house. Can Fancy ever show who she truly is or will she always be this superficial girl?

This was a good debut novel by Vanna B. The story she told was very good and it kept me entertained. With that being said, I am not a fan of books written in present tense. It really interrupts the flow of the story and makes it an awkward read. I will be completing this series. My hope is that part 2 has more WOW factors than part 1.

Finally, Fancy is painted through the eyes of a sharp writer who is sure to deliver more quality and page-gripping work in the future.

I really enjoyed this book about this young woman named Fancy living well beyond her means and trying to be someone she was not all to impress others. Eventually it caught up with her. this story reminds of a very close friend of mine so im def recommending this to her to read. Fancy just couldn't get her life together. The ending of this book was crazy and unexpected just how a good story should be. This is my first Vanna B. book and im surely looking forward to more work from her.

Fancy truly was a unexpected tale. The storyline was unique, and was a pleasant break from the sex, drugs and violence that I typically read about. Fancy is the tale of a young lady who matures throughout the tale, and is finally able to come into her own. Fancy is a quick read, that is full of twists and turns. The plot is definitely different, and the ending will leave you wanting more. I definitelty recommend that you check this out!
