Unusual story written by an ancestor of Oliver Tooley about her life which Oliver then completes with how he is related and what he knew of persons mentioed by his ancestor. Hard times without Dickens.

Memoirs of a woman from the Victorian age. Loved this quirky little book, and the tale of how it came to be published.I wish Fanny had been able to write more.

An interesting insight into aspects of ordinary life in the 1800s. I enjoyed every moment of this book, it's a shame she didn't continue the story of the children growing up otherwise I'd have given it 5 stars.
