I ended up loving this book as much as i did then. The heroine, called Sam, gets a job working with a band, on a cruise ship. A band that was once popular but due to family issues, they lost their careers. now they are trying to make a comeback! the lead singer, Tony, seems to have a sweet spot for sam. I liked that Sam was a curvy girl, with attitude. She didnt allow anyone to disrespect her. I loved her relationship with her cousin Isis.
The supporting cast was also fun, i waited the whole book for Tree (Tonys brother) to leave his crazy girl friend. lol i got really into the book and all the characters. I would love to find out what happens to Sarge, and Avery, i liked them both.
I felt like i was on this cruise, right along with Tony, and Sam. I felt like i was sightseeing with them and having the time of my life! I liked that the characters had pasts, especially Tony, he has made many mistakes and came out better for it. He is not the type of character that allows his past to dictate his future, this is definitely not the hero that is sleeping with all the woman in the book because of weird reasons.
this was simply a happy read, that lifted my mood. =)
My one criticism would be that this is the kind of story which could have used some more time for developing the relationship between the two main characters. I guess the length of the book didn't permit this. But, I found that the having the whole relationship take place during the short space of time of the cruise, was a little contrived and not in keeping with the relatively cautious and practical nature of the characters.
As usual, Ms. Manees has written another sweet, sensitive, humourous and utterly romantic story which will surely thrill her audience. I still prefer All My Love (there's just something special about that story for me), but this story is still quite impressive. I continue to look forward to more novels from Ms. Raynetta Manees.
Yes, I stayed up all night reading this book.
I just couldn't put it down!
I loved the characters and how plus size ladies
I liked the fact that Sam(the main character)
exercised and kept fit also!
Although she may have played a part in his reformation,
I believe that Tony was tired of his playboy ways
before he met Sam.
I liked the fact that Ms. Manees tied up all
the loose ends at the end of the book.
Also, although All For Love remains my favorite
of all of her books, I love the models on the cover
of this book.
They are more realistic to the characters in the book
than All For Love & Follow Your Heart.
I like the fact that the group Harmony
(mentioned in All For Love-
it's good to know what happened
to them after recording with Darryl)
and Ty & Meeko Barnett from
Follow Your Heart were mentioned.
Keep up the good work, Ms. Manees.
By the way, here's a message for you
if you're reading this review:
In the fly leaf of this book,
it was mentioned that you were working
on a sequel to All For Love to be
released by 2000.
It's now 6 years later!
Any word on when it'll be complete?
I'd love to know:
If Alex & Tiffany got together
Did Darryl and Angela win a Grammy for their song?
Did Alex win an Oscar?
Let's meet baby Bridges!
Did Sam & Bev get together?
What the story on Cortez, Stew, & Charlene?
Looking forward to more good books from you!
