I suspect they use the same old molds; this is thick and sturdy and exactly like the ones you see in flea markets.

Be aware: like the old ones it doesn't have a plug to remove coins, but it is fairly huge and will take a very long time to fill.

Mine arrived without the promised eye decals, but the eyes are molded in very distinctly and they were a snap to color with enamel paint. Probably could use nail polish, if you have a good cat's eye color lying around.

This is about cat-sized and it took my actual cat a good ten minutes of watching and waiting before he approached it. I wouldn't be surprised if it scared off birds, too.

This stands much taller than our very large Maine Coon cat. It’s similar to those blow-mold santas and snowmen, but very halloween. A bit of electrical tape over the coin hole and a light kit and this could be a great Halloween yard decoration.

I had a bank very similar to this when I was a child. I looked it up on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised to find it on Amazon! It is a great size and I'm kind of glad that there is no plug in the bottom so I will be less tempted to raid it. This comes with the added bonus of not having my parents raiding my bank when it fills up and then pretending like I always only had five cents in there upon being questioned. Actually, I wouldn't put it past them, I'm just being optimistic this time around.

Very cool. I wanted something I couldn't open and this is it. I like the way it looks and it is pretty big, it will hold alot of money. Also it looks like a decoration, inconspicuous. Not like a piggy bank someone might steal. It seems as though many of them come with one eye, as was mine. But my artist daughter painted them on.
I don't know why you would complain about not being able to open it. The whole point is to SAVE money. Not take it out and spend it..

I love this bank! My husband constantly hemorrhages small change around the house, so I wanted to get him something to put those coins in. This cat is perfect, tall enough to put on the floor and not trip on and beautiful to boot! And after I peeled the hideous yellow stickers off its eyes its face looked 100% cuter and more expressive(luckily they came off easily leaving no residue) I have no idea why some people took off stars because their tacky stickers fell off, the carved eyes beneath are so much prettier.

I received mine today. However it was suppose to be black and the sticker on the bottom says it's the black cat. I was a little disappointed at first but I think the white will work better. I got it for my son who still misses his black cat, so maybe the white one was good mistake. I love how sturdy, and tall this is and I might buy more in the future.
