I bought this product to use with my Kitchen Aid mixer. So I can easily pull it out instead of lifting it up. When I received the item it was around my wife's birthday and I had wrapped it in the Amazon box. I then gave it to her as the first present to open as a joke. So I threw it over to her and she was shocked. So I picked it up again and threw it on the floor very hard. My sister-in-law threw out the, "wow, why don't you just run it over." So I grabbed the item, then my keys, walked out the door, laid the item in front of my right front tire started the vehicle and proceeded to run it over. To my surprise the wrapping paper was fairly intact and the box was smushed pretty good. When I walked back inside everyone was shocked. Not one person believed what I just did. I said, don't tell me to do something vso ridiculous next time. I then gave her the badly damaged wrapped box and she opened it. To our surprise, it was completely fine. Great build quality, and durability. Functions exactly as it should under my Kitchen Aid.

The initial Product Description as furnished by Amazon is:
MEASUREMENTS: 11 inch long by 14 inch wide by 0.25 inch thick
Further down the Amazon web-page under Product Information is:
Product Dimensions: 14 x 11 x 0.5 inches
Actually, both dimension references are incorrect as the actual thickness is 0.20 inches as measured with the new undisturbed plastic merchandise wrapper still intact on the top and the bottom as measured by a digital caliper.
I was hoping for a 1/2-inch thick cutting board not a 1/5-inch thick cutting board.
After removing the plastic wrapper this might even measure 0.19 inches thick.
This cutting board just doesn't measure up!

Expensive Dollar Store Item

This seems more like a dollar store item now that I have it in my hands. Small, thin, no rubber, and the plastic is very soft. I've used it twice now and it already has many cuts into the surface. Also, because it doesn't have any rubber, it slides on the counter when you're trying to cut. No bueno. :(

Perfect size, excellent quality. This cutting board by Farberware is perfect. The size is great, but I also got one a bit smaller for some prep jobs. Cleans easily, resists knife gouges, hasn't stained, even with beets: in other words, it does all I can ask for. I have washed it more than 20 times and it stands up very well.

I also like what it does not have: useless knobs underneath that raise it from the counter, causing the board to flex when I need it to be steady. No silly colored inserts. No interfering textures on the surface. No "juice" catchers around the size. Juice, with carrots? Really.

This is a cutting board, a kitchen tool. That's what I need, that's what I got. I've used Farberware cutting boards for years and they have lasted 10-15 years for each one. They aren't thick and bulky, but they have the heft that is needed and the rigidity that goes with a good board.

These are the only ones I would purchase.

I use nearly daily. I also love the size. It is large enough to slice a large quantity and it still fits in my cabinet. Highly recommend!

Thin Cutting Board

While this cutting board is large, it is thinner then I could see from pictures. I was wanting one of the boards that is almost 1/2 in thick so I could place it over sink. This does not work because it is thin and does not sit good on sink. It works great on a flat surface. When I try to cut over sink it flexes and could fall into sink. If you just need it for placing on flat surface it is great, but because of its thinness it cant be used over a sink without what you are cutting falling into sink. It is only approximately 1/4 inches thick.

This board is super thin only a 1/4" thick and not built to last. I only paid $8 for it but it's not worth more than a few dollars. Just a skinny piece of plastic that will warp in the dishwasher and slides all over the counter...don't bother

I was hoping for softer UHMW plastic. This material is hard, and is dulling my knives. It also slides around on the countertop. I can work around that with a damp paper towel, but the overall performance is disappointing.

I plan to cut them and use the pieces as a shelf liner for cast iron pans. I can't recommend them as cutting boards.
