Let me start out by saying that it DOES work but there were 2 issues for me. The 1st issue was that the depth to which it squeezes will only go so far then you have to get creative if you want to squeeze more water out. I put a metal lid from a pickle jar underneath the can of tuna to raise it up a bit more and squeeze out some more water. The 2nd issue for me was that the plastic press plate with the holes in it had a sizable gap between the plate edge and the can wall which allowed quite a bit of tuna to squeeze out around the sides. If you like to remove as much liquid from your tuna as possible, this might not be the tool for you. But it does work and so far it seems to be well made.

Works well to keep water\oil away from hands, however the straining piece inside needs to be larger towards the outer edges of the tuna can to completely strain. I have always been left with additional water\oil that this device does not strain completely.

Returning for a refund after washing. The standard tuna can is 3.5" in diameter before opening, so say the actual opening, once the lid is removed with a can opener, is 3.25" in diameter. The disc inside this "tuna squeeze", which is supposed to drain the liquid from the can, is 2.75" in diameter, but the holes the liquid should come are only placed 2.25" across. Thus a FULL INCH around the edge of the tuna doesn't drain! However, due to the bevel on the edge of the straining disk, the tuna gets smashed up and OUT of the edges of the can, and so much of the solid tuna is lost with the liquid! Then you still have to mix around the contents to get what's left of the soggier edge contents into the middle, and press again.
I suspect in the next 10 years we'll probably be able to design and make our kitchen gadgets with our affordable home 3-D printers. Until then, I'll go back to the $1.99 strainer from Wal-mart. And Farberware needs to melt these poorly designed tuna drainers and start over.

I would not recommend this product. Not sure who designed it but apparently nobody tried to before producing it. First, the area that presses on the tuna is too small allowing too much of the tuna unpressed. This also allows tuna to be washed out in the process. Second, the device doesn't allow the tuna to be pressed tight enough. This gives you wet tuna which is what you were trying to avoid in the first place.

I was hoping for a little better product. Too much of the product escapes due to the size of the retainage ring.

Very poor design and very disappointing for a Farberware product. The part that goes down into the can is not as large as the opening so it pushes tuna out as well as the water and it does not push all the water out. Returning it for a refund.

this product works ok.. ME I like to squeeze the last bit of water out, so I have to finish the job by hand.. for most folks tho I think it would be great.. It works better than my wife does with nothing else.. she usually leaves enough water in the tuna after "Straining" to squeeze it out. with this, she can make tuna salad sandwiches which are O K...

This is a very practical product, that is well made, using a durable material. It is a well thought-out design that is very functional. The only negative aspect of this product is cleaning it after use. The area between the top/lid and the perforated press plate is a little tight and tedious to get into to give it a good scrubbing. And, the perforated area can only be cleaned using a spray of water. Otherwise, this is an excellent product, and I'd recommend it for it's intended purpose.
