Worst corkscrew. I couldn't use it at my job as a server because (1) the blade couldn't cut the tin casing and (2) you have to twist the corkscrew ALL the way down to the top of the cork in order for the lever to be used - and even then, it's not easy! It's embarrassing to be at a table opening up a bottle of wine for a group of customers and to be having a noticeable battle with your wine opener.

Ugh - buy this if you want to struggle opening a bottle of wine in the privacy of your own home.

Nice wine opener. It is exactly that a wine opener; stainless steal and well built. Arrived when stated with no issues. Plan on using mine on my sailboat and need something tough to last in constant damp conditions. I recommend this for those that don't want to see rust and would like their opener to last for years to come.

Built well and functions properly. Just two caveats, the foil cutter blade is not sharp, you could cut it better with a fingernail. Also while the construction is solid it's a bit thin to hold and edges are a bit sharp so not the most comfortable for pulling tight corks. You could actually cut the foil with the edges better than the blade.

I love this corkscrew because it's small enough to carry in my pocket. I keep a spare in my car and almost always have one in my pocket when I am at social events.

The spiral has a sufficiently coarse pitch to quickly grab a cork and fully screw down in two and a half to three turns. The small form factor does not provide optimum leverage for removing corks, but a little adroit jiggling usually overcomes that problem. Besides, this is more of a portable convenience than a bar accessory.

I found the knife to be sufficient for slitting foil, but I recommend confining it to that use because heavier tasks could loosen it in the handle. Not a problem in my opinion, but I have observed folks who have attempted to use the blade as a small general purpose knife.

While I love the size, I also love the stainless steel finish. It's easy to keep clean and sanitary and it gives the corkscrew a professional, no-nonsense look. In that respect the aesthetics follow form because this is a no-nonsense tool that does one thing very well - uncork wines - with no pretentious adornment or inflated price.

The simple existence of this corkscrew in my drawer at work is the reason I'm here looking for a suitable replacement. Look at the handle and use your imagination for how it feels to attempt to apply any amount of pressure to that thin metal… lets call it a blade. It will eat your hand. This product has repeatedly allowed me to look like an idiot and embarrassingly has resulted in many men thinking they need to "help the little lady" as I struggle to find a way to pull it without it severing my hand in half. Let me tell you this apparent "incompetence" does not reflect well in the tip jar. I have opened thousands of bottles of wine in my career and it wasn't until this shining silver satan's key showed up that I developed a reputation of breaking corks. Basically everything that could be wrong with a cork screw is demonstrated by this product. Something about the geometry of it requires you to pierce all the way through the cork in order to have a suitable angle to remove the cork other wise it just begins to bend. The flat teeth will not seat firmly on the top of the bottle and even a moment of distraction will have it sliding off generally resulting in some scuffed up knuckles or another stab wound. And the only thing that knife will cut is the user. I've had better luck removing the foil with a spoon than that blade. Thanks to this wine key, which is like that door key you keep in your junk drawer because you know it SHOULD serve a purpose but you can't seem to find anything it will open, I have wine uncorking anxiety. Do yourself a favor and find something a little less bent on the slow skinning of your hands.

Showed up with the rivet holding the corkscrew to the handle assembly halfway out.

Squeezed it back in with pliers and it's been okay since, debating whether to return it for a replacement or grab a hammer and a punch and try to peen it over to keep it from falling out again.

The design otherwise is okay.

I bought this as an extra opener for my desk upstairs so I can carry an unopened wine bottle + glasses upstairs and save myself a trip. The knife is not very effective, but I saw a youtube video that showed how to pull the foil off by hand which works well with most bottles, so usually I don't bother with the knife. The opener works just fine once the foil is removed.

Build quality could be better, but if you want something that looks nice and works you can't beat this for the price. If you want the very best opener you will need to spend more.

The item I received today is similar, and nice enough, but not the opener pictured.
