I wasn't sure what to expect going into this book, but Jenn Hype managed to keep me hooked from the very beginning. Memory loss is something that always intrigues me and this book did just that. Brailey has suffered a trauma and has memory loss--like, she doesn't remember her name, or her favorite color, or her own brother. She doesn't remember why she's in Mayford and she sure doesn't remember Mark. As the story unfold, Brailey begins to have flashes of what we know to be memories. This is why this book is suspenseful. Since she doesn't remember people or any of her past, these memories are key to her recovery. When she leaves Mayford, she meets Keegan and Wyatt. Let me just say....Wow! Wyatt. Yep, What's better than a new neighbor? A HOT new neighbor.
The sparks fly, the tensions build, the fun begins. At the same time the memories become more persistent, things begin to fall into place, and then they fall apart.
Read Farewell Apathy. If this is your first Hype book, you won't be disappointed. If you've read her other stuff, then I hear this is completely different.
This book is full of mystery, who did it what's going to happen kind of thinking. There are some funny parts, but that's not what this book is about. It's seat on the edge of your seat suspense.
The characters are amazing. While we get to know each one of then differently, as a collective whole this is by far the authors best work!
I don't want to get to much into the plot because it is mind boggling! But shot version she can't remember her life before. She slowly starts to remember and she doesn't like what she remembers.
So overall this is a total 5 star read!!!! Get it now!!!!!
Farewell Apathy by Jenn Hype is one of those books that you can’t stop reading.
Brailey awakens one day and can't help the pain she feels. Her head is pounding, vision unclear, mouth feels as if she’s swallowed cotton balls. As she tries to move she realizes that she is strapped down to a bed. She hears someone speaking and can't help but wonder who it is. She asks herself where is she? Why can’t she remember anything?
We meet Mark. He releases her and explains how she’s at the Mayford psychiatric hospital after being involved in an accident. All alone after losing her brother after his transplant surgery, the hospital helped Brailey get onto her feet with a flat and money that was in her brothers insurance policy.
When she arrives at the flat she meets Keegan her next door neighbor and new best friend. Keegan is bright and bubbly, a breath of fresh air. Keegan made me giggle throughout the story with the things she says and does. I wouldn't mind having her as a friend lol.
The girl’s get a new neighbor, a handsome man named Wyatt. He becomes close to Brailey but his intentions aren’t all they seem. As events unfold he is always there. We can’t help but think is he a threat or a good guy.
This story is told from both point of views so we get to see inside their emotions and thoughts. I really liked that because we can feel and see what they are going through .
This story is the first book that I have read by Jenn Hype and it definitely will not be the last. Im hoping there is a follow up to this story as I would love to find out how the character’s later evolve. Definitely an enjoyable read.
Book starts out in a flash back from Brailey. She is strapped down at her wrists and ankles and feels horrible. The room is dark and her head is pounding and dry. She catches a shadow deep in the room and a hint of cologne. He steps out of the shadows and is a nice looking man. Then flashes to present day.
Brailey is striking out on her own and her friend Mark is there to help her. She is afraid but is ready for this next step in her life. She gets to her new apartment and her new life and as she is walking up to her new building she is run over by Keegan her new neighbor who decides it is her job to get Brailey settled into and furnish the new apartment.
The girls are coming home from their shopping trip and Brailey stops short when Wyatt catches her eye. Keegan decides they are going to help him move him to check him out more and get to know him. Little to either know Wyatt has secrets to keep, especially from Brailey.
If you like romantic suspense you must read this book!
