My introduction to the music of Tony Ellis was the begining of my full fledged interest in Celtic and American Traditional music. His style is so unique, and yet at the same time it is an elegant combination of Old World and New World music styles. I don't pretend to be an expert on music theory or composition. All I know is that his music moves me. I recommend this album, as well as his other work.

I have long been a fan of old time folk music, especially the banjo, having grown up hearing a great deal of it. I stumbled across Tony Ellis' album Quaker Girl, quite by mistake, and found it quickly became a favorite. So I started looking for more of his music and purchased this one. I find I like it just as much and listen to it often. This music takes me back to my roots and also connects me to my deep love of simple country life.

This is a nice collection of instrumental pieces by Tony Ellis. He plays banjo in a slow style. This is not Flatt and Scruggs music. It's sort of like some of Allison Brown's slow pieces.
