Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

fiber loaded sweet puree, just organic butternut squash, add to soups, pasta, smoothies, eat plain
Love this brand, I am totally in love with their pumpkin (can eat direct from can, they use an extra sweet tasting pumpkin it seems), and so when I was looking to add squash to my pantry I went directly to this company. A bit pricy, but I wanted something I knew I would enjoy. I like it warmed up paired with other veggies, I like using it as a "sauce" for pasta, or adding it into soups (for added fiber, nutrients), as the star of the soup (ie squash soup), or even added to chili. LOVE with lentils. I have used it to bulk up my smoothies with fiber. I have added a little to oats. Basically use it same way as pumpkin. Light, sweet taste. Is it a replacement for cooking up some fresh winter squash (in this instance, butternut squash)? No. Just as canned green beans aren't the same as from the garden green beans. But they have their purpose (and not a fair comparison). Is it good as a convenience item (and healthy item to add to other foods stuffs)? YES. It is better or same as frozen bricks? yes/maybe. That's personal taste preference. I find this brand much easier to eat, has a smoother taste and naturally more sweet. I will grab for this many times over before the bricks (and I like the bricks ok enough).Looking at some of the reviews, I want to add:--It's a puree, folks. Butternut puree. That means its smooth. Nothing added.--also, Its ORGANIC.--Packed in BPA free can.--A dented can isnt dangerous. Govt sites, and food sites will say this. Only one to be concerned over is tomatoes, and only if can appears breached. A little dent is fine, but better to use it sooner over later. But you do you. Overall, I prefer non dented cans and would easily down rate based on that. Mine are all fine, thankfully-- best to sort reviews by "most recent" as that will give you more relevant info on the batch you are getting. Reading something from 2018, and it is mid 2022? Likely irrelevant.--I personally dont taste the can. I am actually sitting here shoveling some into my mouth direct from can. It tastes like butternut squash.--Acquired 04/2022 with expiry date of 01/2023. A lot of products a little short on best by dates. However this is reasonable, and I will likely have gone through this well before then. Also, stuff lasts in cans way longer than a date stamped on it.

This brand is really good, smooth and tasty enough to eat from the can. Unfortunately it has gone up so much, can’t afford it anymore, if I had the money it’s worth it.
I love this product, but it is very expensive and one of the cans was dented upon arrival and it pops which I know is dangerous to eat. I do not want to throw it out I would like a replacement from the company. Please send me a replacement can of this delicious organic butternut squash purée

I've used this product for many years and it is wonderful. Unfortunately, The case that I just received from Amazon today will expire in just over three months. Since most canned goods have a shelf life of three years at manufacture, this is obviously old. Combined with the trainwreck state of my entire order, I will be cancelling all of my auto shipments. It's really too bad, because all of the Farmer's Market canned goods are high quality and very convenient to have on hand.
Waking up to hot oatmeal, already cooked, sounds good in the winter, doesn't it? I use my crockpot for this purpose (among others) and it works well for our family. My daughters don't eat their veggies as they should, and we sat down to discuss how to make sure they get what they need without being obvious. My husband joked "too bad they can't eat pumpkin pie as a veggie" and I got to thinking. Well...butternut squash is VERY similar to pumpkin. You can make pies out of this and it's almost indistinguishable except it's more yellow than orange. So...I had an extra can of pumpkin in the pantry and gave the crockpot oatmeal a shot with it. (recipe follows.) When this was a huge hit, I bought two cases of this organic butternut squash (from same company as the pumpkin I used.) It turns out lighter, so if you really wanted to darken it more, you can add brown sugar instead of white sugar. It's simple to make, is cheap, and gives the kids their veggies without them even knowing it.
1 cup of steel cut oats (also called pinhead oats, Irish oats) 2 cups of milk ½ cup of sugar (white or brown) 1 tsp of vanilla 1 15-oz can of pumpkin or butternut squash 2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice 4 tbsp of butter
Add all the ingredients to the crockpot and cook on low overnight. Ready 6-8 hours later! 6 healthy servings.
Also...make a quick chicken soup with this! Canned chicken broth (or chicken wet soup base and water), can of butternut squash, large 12 oz can chicken (or leftover cooked chicken), frozen peas and carrots, dried shallots, and a handful of chopped prepackaged coleslaw mix. Bring to a boil. Cook til tender, about 7 mins. You can add cooked leftover rice or noodles and heat thru. If you use dried pasta, just boil it with the broth, shallots and coleslaw mix first until it's almost done, then add the canned chicken, canned butternut squash and the peas and carrots. They take almost no time to cook.
Tastes great and the cases I have received so far have all been good for a year or so. I mostly use this to make homemade dog food as my pups have some food intolerances, and one has a medical issue that has improved with a higher quality diet.
Product wasn't too bad. The box product was shipped in was not damaged at all but inside there were 5 badly damaged cans that were in the center of the box. There was no way the cans were damaged when shipped to me. It was like they were purposely placed in there just to pass the damage cans on to someone else. Will not order again.
