This is a simulator which should be indicative from the title. I find fault with this game in that most of the fun equipment and activities comes from mods which are available for download on the internet. Most are free. The games just needs expansion on the types of plants you can grow, include improved yields with crop rotation and pest control to improve upon difficulty, more business aspects, more ranching activities, add a farmers garden and ability to sell at farmers market or to town restaurants. Basically, if the developers would just blend this simulator style with the massive amount of activities available in the Harvest Moon series (leave out the childlike romance)...they would broaden their base and create a much better game.

Bottom line: what my review should point out (other than ideas posted in the wrong place) is that the game is fun, but their is a lot missing and nothing but vast improvements that could be made.

This is not your shoot'em up blood everywhere game. This is simply a simulator game on farming. You start our small with older equipment and as you grow you can buy newer tractors, trucks, land etc. The only thing I didn't care for is the fact that you could only have so many tractors and hired help and such, unlike the PC version where you could have as many as you wanted and/or needed. If they come out with another edition hopefully they will be able to fix that problem. Maybe have a setup like Gran Turismo where there is a virtual garage that you can store your equipment in. All in all I enjoyed it. You definitely get into it once you get more things and land.

Nothing to keep your interest during monotonous hours of back and forth in the fields, collecting eggs for little value, etc. I wanted to be able to raise livestock and set up greenhouses right away for my farming business. I had no interest in large fields of grain. Even at the easiest setting you're forced to grow corn, wheat, etc for several days of play before you have enough money to buy the best machinery, land that isn't miles apart, and start building your livestock and other farming businesses. The timed missions are monotonous too. Its a great concept and I really want a farming game on the PS platform, but it needs a lot of work to make it interesting. Also, the graphics and programming of other characters/vehicles is terrible.

We were brought up on farms, but our sons have limited exposure to the daily farmlife, although they do 4-H Sheep projects at their uncle's farm. We got two PS3 games as Christmas gifts and this Farming Simiulator seems to be played all the time. Our two sons (15 &11) even seem to be able to share and take turns. They seem to enjoy just watching each other. I haven't really observed the full content, but the boys do LOVE it. So much so that it seems to be all they do and we really have a battle getting them off of it. It is a game so they do stupid stuff with it, but I think they are learning some good financial concepts in the agriculture world.

Very happy with it only problem is when my son gets stuck on hills and then tries to clear them out with our tractors and gets those stuck too! The controls can be tricky. I haven't been able to play with them because it's too complicated. Should be able to reset to where tractors are originally. Otherwise, a fun game. My husband had fun too and is building a farm himself :)

I only gave it 4 stars bc it's a UK based game so a lot of the measures aren't in standard US form & common American tractor brands aren't used i.e. John Deere... But overall is a good Game for the kids. Beats the hell out of the smut & violence found on other games!

Good game, almost realistic. Some of the equipment does not work like you would expect it to in real life.
Also, it is easy to get stuck--like accidentally running over a car--then it's impossible to get off of it.
Let's just say it's not as advanced as gta driving situations

I would have rated it 5 stars but there are some software clichés in the matrix on the PS3 version. some machinery does not work like it should, or pull behind tractors (not compatible). non farmers probably would not notice or care.
it is time consuming, you really are a farmer, with crops, deadlines, weather issues that must be met.
