Bronco Gold's 32 oz. equine fly spray plus is a great formula to prevent your horses from getting bit. Citronella scent with trigger sprayer. Repels and kills stable, horse, face, deer, house and horn flies. Also repels mosquitoes, gnats, ticks, fleas, chiggers and lice. This non-oily insecticide repellent may be applied with a trigger spray applicator, or as a wipe. Insecticide and repellent for use on horses, ponies, foals. Was afraid to try this after some horses were reported to have broken out and the smell was off. However, my highly sensitive guy did just well and it smells like any other flyspray I have used in the past 20 years! I live in Florida and the flies are INSANE already in April. So I bought this on a whim and while everyone else is getting dive bombed by these mutant bugs that resemble 747s, my horse is standing in ignorant bliss that theres even flies around him. Trust me when I say HE IS SENSITIVE; will literally stop dead mid-canter because he sensed a wing tip on his ear. Even when nothing is there. He was standing near the muck pile, flies everywhere, mommy getting annoyed, horse grazing peacefully. Do yourself a favor. BUY THIS NOW!

This is the No.1 choice! I almost gave it four stars because it's too expensive - and that's the only reason I've used other brands. With three horses this time of year the bottle only lasted a week; I've just ordered the larger.
The really good news is not only does it work, but with the lanolin it leaves a layer of oil that seems to sooth the skin. I have a mare that is allergic to mesquitos and HATES the smell of other sprays; she's always jumped around when sprayed. With this one she hasn't shyed away or jumped around once. I still spRAY on my hand or a rag to apply to her face, but all three stand much calmer with this.
In the extreme heat it last two days - maybe - and I still need to apply to the face, but for their happiness and well-bring that's ok.
I just ordered the roll on replellant for around the eyes. That does OK but I need to apply twice a day in the heat.
It's just too expensive (and the Apple Cider Vinegar solution tends to dry their skin out and doesn't last very long either - but it's less expensive and better for them than the really strong pesticide/repellants)

This use of this product is borderline animal abuse. Both of my horses broke out with painful hives. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve apologized to my horses for blindly allowing them to suffer. I just don’t understand how this company is still allowed to do business after selling such a horrendous product. If you buy this product be prepared to pay for a Vet too. And if thats not bad enough, you probably won’t be able to brush your horse for a while, makes their hair fall out. Those who allow this product to continue be sold should be deeply ashamed of themselves.

this is an oil based fly spray.I sprayed lightly as directed.Then a day later found my horse had chemical burns on him,hair,brown and dry and some patches hair fell off and I had some bleeding skin.Vet was there and I gave him bath and applied cream.Will never use it again...be careful as your horse can be very sensitive to this spray.

Love this for household use
I had a lot of flies in my house, and was giong to have a dinner party. I have multiple dogs and cats, so did not want to spray anything toxic to animals in or near the house. I sprayed this stuff generously around all my windows and dog door both inside and outside, and the files disappeared. As an added bonus, I no longer notice as many mosqitoes when I am sitting on my porch.
It has been a month since I used this, and I am still enjoying the benefits. It also has a very pleasant citrus scent.
I am not sure if it actually kills the flies, or just keeps them away. I suspect it does both.
I will definitely be buying this again.

Better than the regular Bronco spray

This was my second purchase for fly spray this year for my horse after using the Bronco brand in the white bottle, which only lasted two weeks and did nothing to relieve my horse of irritating stable flies. I have to say I am much more impressed with this, even the barn manager noticed a significant difference in the reduction of flies around my horse to only a few and commented on it. I am also having to spray him less and his coat is beautiful and soft. I will have to see how it works for trail riding - live in the New England area so we will see how it holds up in the woods. If it does well I will definitely consider repurchasing. I have only been using it a few days - no hives on my paint gelding like mentioned in other reviews.

This stuff works miracles for my large huskies. Flies were destroying their ears and the pet store fly spray wasn't cutting it. I spray them both each morning and it lasts all day. Finally the flies are gone and their ears are healing properly, horse flies are no joke.

Prior to this I purchased the Bronco (white bottle) with Citronella scent. Pretty disappointing. Had to spray several times and the flies just seemed to keep coming. I ordered this one based on reviews and I was really impressed. Just a few light sprays and the flies were instantly gone. I also love how soft and smooth it made my horse's coat feel. The only down I would say is that the scent reminded me of Raid, but that is a small negative for something that truly works! This will definitely remain a staple in my supply box!
