Fantastic conclusion to an epic series

This stands alone as a great action packed sci-fi adventure of epic scale for those new to the series. That it concludes the series makes it even better. I feel that most loose ends were tied up nicely. As someone who only recently binge watched the entire series for the first time I can not understand the negative reviews for Peacekeeper Wars, it was a pretty seamless transition and only a few subtle clues such as stars aging made it apparent it took years to finish. It was very entertaining on its own right and the cgi was as always superb. Some of the makeup did flag and wasnt up to previous Henson standards but still better than most out there now. It really is a fantastic series, that starts off slowly but like all other great scifi series ends on a bang. The product itself was good, came in clear, no problems of quality.

we wont see such a series again, no corporation will allow artists and writers the years to develop such costly quality programming nowadays, its all packaged in small episodic 'seasons' and out the door if veiwer count drops an inch.

It has been almost 10 years since I bought all of the Farscape Collection DVDs and I still love them. It's a show that I accidentally came across reruns of on TV when I was in High School. I kept watching the episode and laughing about how cheesy it was and by the end...I found myself hooked. That's how it starts with sci fi shows ha ha. I am particularly fond of these "Collection" DVDs rather than the season DVDs. At the time the full season DVDs were not available and I worried that I was going to end up spending more money in the end but I was wrong. It turns out I didn't lose out on anything and I am so glad to have them now. Each collection has it's own picture of the Leviathan on the side that is only a full picture when each DVD case is put next to the other. With collections of all the seasons I have beautiful artwork to display on my DVD shelf. I highly recommend this show to sci fi lovers and these "collection" DVDs as well if they stick around. Each and every collection comes with extras so rather than just one "extras" DVD per season, you get 3! Pretty awesome deal. :)

A Fitting End To Farscape

I got hooked on Farscape after a friend recommended it to me. Her description of it made it sound a bit like a goofy televised sci-fi comic book, which is not exactly to my tastes in science fiction. However, I quickly became a convert after watching the first few episodes. Another reviewer here said it perfectly: "It's lame in all the right ways".

By the time I had watched the entire series on Netflix, I knew I had to have this wonderful series on DVD, so I purchased the set from Amazon. I was disappointed, though, that the fifth and final season had not been made. Why they cancelled "Farscape" one season shy of its intended five-season run is beyond me, as it is such a creative and imaginative show. I suspect, though the usual culprits - money and ratings - were the culprits.

As with Firefly , though, the makers of "Farscape" were kind enough to their legions of fans to put together a great movie to wrap up the series. "The Peacekeeper Wars" never made it to the theaters the way the "Firefly" wrap-up Serenity did, but no matter.

"Peacekeeper Wars" is a movie/three-hour miniseries that neatly wraps up all the loose ends that were dangling after the Season Four cliffhanger ending, and does it by telling an extremely entertaining tale full of final confrontations, resolutions and battles. Of course, it wouldn't be "Farscape" if there wasn't plenty of tongue-in-cheek goofy humor, so naturally there's plenty of that as well.

I won't get into the plot here, as there's many reviews that rehash various plot elements. Rather, I'll just say this. As absurd as the premise of the series is (and I mean "absurd" in the most complimentary of fashions) I ended up caring about the characters (well, except maybe for Rygel). The scriptwriters and actors put a lot of effort into making the crew of the living ship Moya into multi-dimensional beings who are actually worth caring about. That's what good television is all about, and "Peacekeeper Wars" is a perfect ending to a show that is a wonderful blend of entertainment and character development.

With the rather unsatisfactory ending to the series thank God Hallmark decided to satisfy the fans with an ending that could, pretty much, keep everyone happy. With so many pretty decent Sci-Fi TV series being cancelled it showed that if a network decide not to take up the show the writers can be given a chance to wrap-up the loose ends. Angel was pulled but the finale sort of concluded the 5 year series and others that weren't so lucky were, to name a few, Firefly, Brimstone, Heroes, Midnight, Stargate Universe, Invasion, Surface, the Lone Gunmen, Jericho, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Tru Calling, Bionic Woman, Odyssey 5, Space Above and Beyond, Threshold, 4400, Defying Gravity, etc, etc. I wish more companies showed some backbone, as Hallmark did, and produced the filming of similar mini-series to give a conclusion to series followed religiously by many Sci-Fi fans. But realistically what can you expect from from a nation that had George Bush as President (he shout "Amigo, Amigo at the ITALIAN Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi), Vice-President Dan Quayle (I was recently on a tour of Latin America, and the only regret I have was that I didn't study Latin harder in school so I could converse with those people.) and finally Sarah Palin (But obviously we've gotta stand with our North Korean allies--we're bound to by treaties ...) as a major contender for high political office!!!

I didn't 'get' Farscape when it showed, but I did gain an appreciation for both main actors when they appeared on Stargate SG-1. Contemplating a cold winter with poor TV I ordered Farscape and we sat down to watch and after a bit of a slow start became very engaged with all of the characters. I like series with an overarching plot (Babylon 5 comes to mind) which slowly comes to its inevitable climax. I also love strong, capable women so Farscape scored maximum points and the interactions between the well designed and manipulated puppets and the human cast was totally believable. A really intriguing series.

As far the mini series goes, its a great story arc. Its the best the team could have done after the cancellation of the main series. I love every part. If you are a fan of the show this is a must watch.

The Seller provided a very fast delivery, two days into the three week window, which impressed me greatly. They also provided a note explaining that only outer sleeve was designed with international market. I have no problems with the seller and would use them again.

My only problem is when the DVD was produced the complete mini series was put on one disk and edited to run as one movie. This resulted it a loss of about 3 to 4 minutes at the start of the second part where the title screen has been edited out. The movie can still be followed but someone who has not seen it before may be lost for a beat or two and may put it down bad continuity. I had a copy I taped from the original airing on VHS so I know the mini series pretty well. I will need to get another copy for the sake of my OCD of having the complete collection but will be happy to watch this version in the meantime.

After being left with a devastating cliff hangar, Farscape was axed in favour of Stargate SG-1, however due to the unrelenting determination of Farscape's huge fan base the show has finally received the send off it deserved.
I must admit that there is no way they could squeeze a whole season's storyline into a few hours and if you're expecting this then be warned, however if you watch it with an open mind, and remember your Farscape universe you won't be disappointed.

I really enjoyed the beginning of this series when it was first broadcast in the UK. Something happened at some point, I either moved or they changed the time but I remember that all of a sudden I didn't get back from work in time and kept forgetting to set the video! In the end I gave up on it.
I'm now at the end of season two of this box set and must say its great. The aliens and bits of plastic pipe have stood the test of time well and still look good even in this era of modern CGI.
The stories have all been good so far except one which is more than I can say for a lot of box sets.
Really recommend this!
