Inside, all four dolls are in the same pose, so they can all wear all the clothes. Not a bad concept, but why would they want to? There are "over 30 outfits" the cover tells us...of lumpy, shapeless, tacky little costumes with few or downright ugly details. They all look like the bottom of a funeary flower basket or like they were a bad drug induced trip from the 1970s and would be made from polyester. There is nothing "fashionable" or "fantastic" about these clothes. There are also no shoes for any of them despite the ones shown on the cover. This book appears to be the lazy product of a Photoshop program. Everytime a fairy says they don't believe in art, an illustrator is replaced by a computer.
Someone gifted my children with these books. My little ones (ages 5 and 6) were extremely excited and pleased. The paper is not at all substantial enough so I took the dolls out and the outfits.
My complaints -
1) The dolls do not stand - when they are wearing the clothes they sway backwards.
2) The paper used for manufacturing is of poor stock - the outfits and dolls are prone to ripping, especially the tabs, the arms, the one fairy's braid, etc.
3) My children are unable to put the clothing tabs into the correct slots. Again - this is an issue of the paper being far too thin. I personally do not expect the tabs to last any length of time, and by that I mean, within the week, if we're lucky.
4) Some of the outfits are a top and a bottom - we have been met with resistance on the part of the dolls in trying to put two tabs of paper into one slot. Thus, our dolls are only able to wear one piece outfits.
These don't even deserve one star, in my opinion.
A much better product, in our experience is the Flower Fairies Paper Dolls that I purchased from Amazon last year during the holidays. They have held up well and are of much better quality.
*** An addition to my earlier review - the outfits did not even last the day. The tabs split and ripped and my children played with them gently.
