I am a notorious “pantser,” someone who writes from the seat of their pants…shoots from the hip…just writes it as it comes. There’s a certain freedom to writing this way, but man…it TAKES A LONG TIME TO WRITE A BOOK LIKE THIS!
Then, along came Denis Jaden’s, FAST FICTION. Let me just cut to the chase by saying, this is it, folks. This is the book you want. Simple, straightforward, Jaden gets to the point and leads you painlessly through the seemingly intimidating task of how to structure a novel.
Although it is written for NaNoWriMers - those who take on the challenge of drafting a novel in 30 days - FAST FICTION works for any time frame. Even if you only have the vaguest notion of what you want to write about, FAST FICTION will walk you through it. It will ask you questions, make you do your homework, and tap into the nooks and crannies of your memories and imagination. By the end of the book, you’ll have a pretty kick-ass outline.
I have created “cheat sheets” from FAST FICTION and have two novels waiting in the wings to be written. I’m so excited to write them. All the hard work is done. The arc is secure. The characters solid. There will still be room for creative license as I write, but the pressure will be off.
Thank you, Denise Jaden, for this book.
