The Fastronix Military Battery Terminal and Cover Kit includes (1) Positive Military Style Battery Terminal, (1) Negative Military Style Battery Terminal, and a set of Red and Black Military Battery Terminal Covers. The terminals are cast lead for conductivity and corrosion resistance. This kit is perfect for replacing damaged or worn out terminals where the battery cable lug ends are still usable. Simply replace the worn out terminal with the new one and attach the battery cables to the new terminals with a 3/8" bolt. If a complete replacement, or additional battery cable terminals are needed use Fastronix 940-400. Entire product MADE IN THE USA!

The biggest issue I had getting these installed was having to open up the through holes in my cable lugs a little bit to accommodate the 3/8 bolt and re-tin the copper I exposed while drilling them out. If that's their highest hurdle sign me up, I'm sold. Technology is great, product advancement is wonderful, but so is the ability to recognize that some things decline in quality and usefulness once you screw around with it one too many times. Somethings are perfect just the way they are and the ability to identify the things that fall into that catagory and leaving them the hell alone is, sadly, a dying way of thinking.
For those that are needing new battery terminals and are not aware of the benefits of this design, there are many. First, and most obvious, is once the rings/lugs are properly installed and sealed onto the cables, these terminals can be changed when they wear out. With the lugs sealed on the cables, no moisture will find its way into the cables and thus prevent corrosion. The second benefit is multiple cables can be properly run straight to the battery. This is perfect for those of us running accessory circuits, especially high load ones such as winches.
The battery terminal design with a stud and wingnut also sees most of these benefits, however there is no limit to the number or size of cables that can attach to the through bolt design. The through bolt design such as the product here allows the bolt to be tightened much tighter than one can with the stud design (the stud will break easily), preventing loosening. There is also the issue of vertical clearance with the stud design.
Buy this terminal set, properly install and seal ring lugs to your battery cables and enjoy decades of trouble free service.
Also of note is these were a nice chunk of lead where another brand that my dad bough must have had some nickle in them or something as they were much stiffer. I prefer the softer lead over the hard ones as they are easier to clamp onto the battery.
