They are fairly heavy and sturdy, which makes the fact that 1 of the 2 arrived a little bent sort of surprising. I bent it back so it would lay flat and went on with baking. Not a huge deal and probably the fault of the person who packed it or someone else in the warehouse. But that is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5.
These are non-stick (anodized aluminum). I overfilled a few of the muffin papers and the cakes flowed out onto the tray and down into the individual wells. I wiped the cooked cake off of the pan with a dry paper towel and it came right off, so it is likely a person would not need to use the papers, but I always do.
I used the square Wilton papers and they fit close to perfectly.
