Paisley is such a happy, quirky, open spirit while Cole is dark, guarded and cautious. They're light and dark meshed together.
Her story is the one of every other girl who can get along with anyone but can feel out of sorts because of her quirkiness and feeling others are more popular than she is. His story is truly a tragic one. I was/am so rooting for him still.
It's a wonderful read and a story I hope to read more of. Highly recommend.
This book makes you cry and laugh and you find yourself wondering what is going to happen. If you have read other books in the series you think to yourself no please not that. But you hope beyond hope with every turn of the page the story will go the way you want.
You will enjoy this emotional ride with Paisley and Cole, come and enjoy this wonderful story.
Until Next Time..... Tabi
I loved Paisley’s story. I feel in a character comparison, she closely resonates with myself. I think the author did a great job with Paisley’s story and keeping her a stronger character.
In the paranormal realm, the Fae weren’t characters that I normally gravitated towards; however, I’m liking them more and more after this story. The author did a great job with this book and it was a perfect first full length HWFH book.
I really loved the twists and turns of this book and the characters were amazing. There's Paisley, a teenager who is also a supernatural but hasn't come into her powers yet so she doesn't know what she'll be able to do. She's a senior in High School and has a group of friends, so not an outcast. She's also an artist and has competed against Cole every year. He's also a senior in their school and an artist. Both are very talented. Both are Fae, she's from the Seelie Court and he's from the Unseelie court. Over the summer that's just past Cole came into his powers, which are more of a curse. He's incredibly attractive and has the effect of attracting human women like a powerful drug. They want to touch him, have to touch him. Only problem is his skin secrets a toxin that's poison to these humans and kills them and he draws energy from them whenever they touch him. He's attracted to Paisley, but is afraid to give in to his feelings or touch her because he doesn't know if she's truly attracted to him or if it's powers and he doesn't know if it's safe to touch her. So that's the set up and what happens after is the rest of the story. This was a very good book and it was very well written. I enjoyed it and found it a page turner. As some others have said, it doesn't have a HEA ending, but it does have a good ending. It would have been nice to know what eventually happened to Cole.
