Humor,is interspersed throughout the story. A very satisfying and romantic read.
"Fatal Justice" is a truly wonderful novel with multiple twists and turns.
Nick and Samantha, and all those around them, from colleagues to family, are all very strong and well defined characters. The reader easily relates to all of them and connects with each of them from page one. They are amazing people and ones the reader feels are friends of theirs and as much a part of their lives as the other characters in the book to one another.
While each novel is a stand alone, there are several plot lines that carry into the next book in the series. But there is not much of a cliff hanger that it affects the novel you just read. But it does add to more increased anticipation for the next book in the series.
This is a great novel, an immediate attention grabber, and a book I stayed up half the night just to finish. I would highly recommend "Fatal Justice -- book 2 in the series, to alll adult readers. Definitely NOT for the TBR pile or to be put off. I am off to bed and will be starting book 3 in the morning!! I can't wait.
What can I say? Let me just tell you that I very rarely rate a book with 5 * - but this one really deserved it!
Firstly, the mix between romance and suspense was excellently dosed.
So were the controversial issues of abortion and homosexuality. Force managed to highlight very shortly, lightly and diplomatically on the pros and cons of these concerns without lecturing or weighing down the story line. Well done! Compared to the previous sequel were the plot unwrapped a bit difficult and at slower pace, the story line of this novel developed more harmonically and kept me just turning the pages until the book was finished.
Nick and Sam - what a couple! Both are absolutely great! The love and respect they have for each other and share is rare and absolutely wonderful! I absolutely liked that their romance didn't take off into the fairytale sphere but remained down to earth and very realistic. Both face very real problems connected to their very high profile jobs that have positive but mostly negative side effects in their private life. This is rarely done in books of this genre but I highly appreciated it. In any case, their good sense of humor and teasing made me more than once smile and proved that a good dosage of humor can get you nearly around any crisis.
I was pleased to meet the secondary characters from the previous book again. Especially Freddie and his "anxieties".
I can only recommend this book. Go get it!

It's not imperative to start with the first book. Each one is very good.
