It has been six months since Raven rescued Ealasaid from her time being shackled and tortured. Things appear to be going smoothly for them and all their friends. But The devils will not rest until they have their "Jewel", which is Ealasaid. With Raven and their friends help she need to try and stop them from hurting her or any of them. Will they be able to defeat the devils and their magic? You will have to read the book to find out! I cannot wait for the third book in the series!
Once again the reader is swept into the struggle to maintain not only Ealasaid's freedom and the Love shared with Raven but the peace of the three races living in this world. It is as consuming if not moreso than By The Fates, Freed, the first book in this series.
In one iced-in day, I read the entire book, enraptured and caught up in the lives of the characters as any friend in the 'real world'. Miss Eddy has created a world replete with characters of such depth it is hard sometimes to remember they do not exist off the page--or screen.
Ealasaid, Raven, Ami and Seonaid, Faolan and all the others are wonderful witches, humans and devils and it's easy to find yourself rooting for, crying for and laughing with each and every one.
My only regret is that this will not be a long-running series but I will own, read and re-read each edition that she is kind enough to release, loving every moment.
One warning, these books contain definite adult themes--language, sex (consensual and non) violence (physical and magickal) and same-sex relationships (I know this is not necessarily an 'adult theme' but for those prejudiced agaisnt such things, fair warning). If you do not mind such things, this is definitely a book, a SERIES I would wholeheartedly recommend.
I loved it, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys excitement and twists in stories. I would NOT recommend this story to anyone who does not like series stories that leave you hanging at the end.
This stories was fast paced and told through the first person of each of the 10 main characters. I really don't know how the author was able to do such a great job in portraying the 10 different personalities; but she did.
The book contains witches, warlocks, humans, devils, and devil witches and they are believable. The war between good and evil is the on going theme; there are chases, fights, kidnappings and deaths, yes, we do lose a main character. No, I will not tell you who.
The twists right up to the end will have you trying to out guess the author. Good luck with that!
I did love this story but I, personally, do not like to be left hanging. And that is the only thing I found wrong with this story.
I was in the world of Ealasaid,Raven and the rest of the characters! Each character adds depth and meaning to the story, sometimes I read a book and wonder what the point of the secondary character(s) was not this series. All the secondary characters are absolutely wonderful.
I can't wait for the finial installment! I hope in the final part Faolan gets his HEA or even his own book!
I was gifted this book from the amazing author Patricia Eddy!
