About the Author
Mike is a retired electrical engineer after working almost 30 years on the Space Shuttle Program. He then decided to travel and find adventure work while he awaits his wife’s retirement. In between two bicycling tours with Jocelyn he has spent the last two winters working as a satellite communications engineer in Antarctica at McMurdo Station and the South Pole. Jocelyn is an athlete, cyclist, and adventurer. She has spent the last two summers as a camp counselor and lifeguard in Washington State. Her career goal is to lead cycling expeditions around the world. With two cross country tours, a tour of New Zealand, and a solo bicycle ride from college in western North Carolina to home in Florida she is well on her way.

The life of a cyclist is intense. Every day brings moments of unexpected triumph and failure. Hell, the authors barely made it out of their home state in one piece (their trip was across the entire USA). These "nomads" get up every day and try to bike over 50+ miles in a direction that is opposite from their normal and comfortable lives in a square house. What if home got farther away each and every day you woke up? These authors have a passion that can only be described by a J. R. R. Tolkien quote:
"Not all those who wander are lost"
This is an inspiring life philosophy that the world's population lacks dearly in this digital age where we think that we can see the world through a computer screen or TV.. The authors didn't just stop after completing the trip across the USA either. The book includes their international trip across New Zealand! Their next trip is around the world... How many people do you know who are addicted to exploring? Maybe you are one of them....give this book a read if you are curious.
God Bless both of you
Thank you for taking the time to put your adventures into words. I love it! - Martin Smouse
