About the Author
Luke Kammrath is a follower and student of Jesus who loves to teach, read, garden, backpack, and be a husband and pastor. He follows Jesus in Kansas City with his intentional Christian community as they read the Gospels, pray and eat together, share all resources, walk with one another through life, offer hospitality to those experiencing homelessness, and rely on their heavenly Father for all things. Luke was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. He received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering in 2003 from Texas A&M University and was a civilian Flight Test Engineer for the U.S. Air Force for 2.5 years. After hearing the call to leave everything behind to follow Jesus, he quit his job and received his M.Div. from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. Since 2010, he has been a pastor in Kansas City, KS, as "worker-priest" and as part of an intentional Christian community that attempts to embody the Way of Jesus as seen in the Gospels by holding all things in common and practicing radical hospitality for the stranger. He has worked in urban gardening and is the author of "Follow Me": The Way of Jesus According to the Gospel of Mark and "Father, Into Your Hands": The Way of Jesus According to the Gospel of Luke-Acts.
