About the Author

Mark was ordained in 1986, and was most recently the senior leader of St Andrew’s, Chorleywood for 12 years, until leaving to start the Fathers House Trust in 2008. His passion for the cause of fatherhood and the issues around fatherlessness arise from his own experience of being orphaned when he was a baby and subsequently adopted. This has given him a unique perspective on the deep wounds caused by fatherlessness. Becoming a Christian in 1977 also gave him a unique appreciation of the Christian understanding of God as a loving Father who wants to adopt people into his family.

He is a prolific author having published over 30 books, on faith, film and the fatherhood of God. Much of Mark’s recent writing concentrates on fatherlessness, especially From Orphan to Heirs, The Father You’ve Been Waiting For, and most recently I Am Your Father: What Every Heart Needs to Know. Since setting up the Father’s House Trust, Mark has travelled all over the UK and throughout the world speaking about issues relating to the Father’s love for the fatherless. He is also a popular conference speaker and leadership consultant in the UK and overseas.

this is one of the best books I have ever read. I understand more the depth of the Father's love for me and how much I mean to God.

This is a very good Christian book ! Coming from a child and teen life where there
was not what I would have hoped for in a healthy father to love me and be the
type father that would help me to know how to pick boyfriends and a husband
later on in life, there is lots of hurts and damage and lots of work I am having
to do in therapy to recover. This is an excellent book, helping me to see God
as that Father I have, for no human being can be a better Father than God himself,
but this esp was helpful for me cause of where I came from.

Every believer thinks he understands the Parable of the Prodigal Son well enough. Read this and you will discover new depths of what Jesus was trying to communicate to His listners. Instead of focusing on the wild and wasteful son the story really is focused on the prodigal father (who represents God). The father is really the wild and extravagant one because he pours out so much mercy, grace, and blessing upon his undeserving son. In this book you will feel God wooing you to Himself. The believer who reads this book will rediscover God's unconditional love, overflowing grace and perhaps see his identity and authority as a Child of God in brilliant light for the first time. The one who has not yet come into a saving relationship with God will find an irresistable tug of grace from God. You will run to Him because of His steadfast loving-kindness to you. He wants you to come home and He has provided the way.
