I bought this book for my Lenten reading. It is the most rich and in depth book on the Fatima apparitions I have ever read. I would read a chapter or two, then have to put the book down for a day to digest and reflect on what I read. It was the perfect pick for Lent!
If you can only buy one book about Fatima, this is it! This book is for those who think they know a lot about Fatima and for those who know little or nothing about the appearance of Our Lady in Fatima, Portugal in 1917, or who think it's "just a private revelation" and brush it off. This book is thorough, soundly referenced and very readable. There are too many interesting facts to mention them all but the most interesting for me is the relation of Fatima to the Book of Esther in the Old Testament. This book proves that Fatima is not only relevant to our own times but is actually crucial to understanding the danger the world is now in. Fatima is relevant to every person on this planet whether they are Catholic or not. However, it also gives a message of hope. It is comforting to know that individual people can help through their prayers, petitions, sacrifices, and 5 First Saturday devotions to earn graces so that the Holy Father, together with all the bishops of the world will consecrate Russia to the Immaculate heart of Mary and usher in the period of peace to the world promised by Our Lady. We ignore Fatima at our own peril, for there will be dire consequences if the consecration asked by Heaven through Mary is not done.
This was a wonderful book. The story of Fatima has been told many times in different publication; however, Marianna Bartold's book is the definitive book on Fatima. Her research was incredibly comprehensive and she relates the Fatima story and miracle to today. I highly recommend reading this book by Marianna Bartold.
An eye opening, and factual analysis of the 20th Century events, that happened Fatima ,Portugal, pertinent to our modern 21st Century. I highly recommend reading this as it relates to the future of our Humanity and Modern World.
