I did not like Layla at all ... way too assertive, knows what is right and doesn’t give the guy a chance to say ANYthing! She makes up her mind and cuts the guy down! On the other side, he needs to grow a pair instead of being a silent wimp. I’m sure it changed after I stopped reading, but with both jumping to conclusions without listening or speaking up, I’d had enough. Sorry, but many other books I’d rather spend my time on.
Also - need a new editor! Missing words and the past tense for buying something is “bought”, NOT “brought” (ran across this at least 2x in 10 minutes - aaargh!)
UPDATE: I read a bit more (got 1/3 way) after posting my review above, I just can’t do any more ... Sorry, but Layla’s just a b*tch and Tyson’s family taking her side and blaming him for not making it work is just frustrating as heck!
Layla and Tyson both spent most of the book not even speaking because neither bothered to call the other back after their absolutely awesome weekend in bed, where they by the way made a baby! The family and background setting of the book gave it such potential to have the most awesome story for Layla and Tyson but it was wasted on them basically not speaking for the first several months of her pregnancy. I just think the author should have, given the background setting already in place, could’ve come up with an awesome story instead of making us almost want to strangle both of these characters! It is a sweet book, and I love the ending even though it was a bit of a struggle getting there.
She thinks they are mismatched, decides what will be and Tyson has a difficult time getting her to listen to him and he wants to be a big part of his baby's life. I loved the humor, the high emotions and the meddling family that made the story a good read with the key to any relationship being communication.
Sadly, Layla comes across as a brash "city girl." The main issue is that she seems to form opinions without actually listening to anyone else. Perhaps if she let someone get a word in edgewise, this story could have progressed further and faster. Instead, I spent half the book screaming at my Kindle because she frustrated me too much.
I am forcing myself to get to the end of this book. . .More because I want to meet the newest members of the Watson family (to fulfill the HEA from the previous books) than to see these two continue to stumble over each other.

This is the ideal book for a quick read and a slice of cowboy life. It's the last book in a series of four but can be read as a standalone.
