I thoroughly enjoyed reading this really pretty, yet powerful little book! ...This book, along with it s dainty pink with white polka dot pages, and quick-to-read chapters, is filled to the brim with wisdom and real life experience to help the reader overcome the stressors of life. ...It s messages are way more important and fulfilling. Just a side note; this book is spiritual. There is reference to God and scripture in almost every chapter. Whether you are spiritual or not really shouldn't make a difference. This book was written to help and help it does. I was able to utilize much of the wise information in the book to assist with my desire to revive. I also found other information that reinforced my goals and gave me added hope that my efforts can and will be accomplished! By focusing on the overall message of this book, you will get your own fistful of chocolate and so much more! --Cara Meyers, Motherhood Later, 2/14/13
This is a great inspirational book. Coty has included lots of encouragement from Scripture, lots of examples from people's lives, and has sprinkled it all with humor --Joan Nienhuis, Book Woman Joan, 2/18/13
Fear, Faith, and a Fistful of Chocolates is tailored to women worn down by everyday fears—financial, health, relationships, loss, pain, the unknown, the what-ifs—both real and imagined. In a nutshell, the stuff of life. Coty encourages women to join hands and hearts and approach the quest to conquer life’s worries with faith, a girlfriend, and a smile.

I don't think I'll get the term 'People Hangover' out of my head for awhile- but she is right forgiveness does more for the person doing the forgiving than the one who is being forgiven! Worry, guilt, stress, all come from misdirected fear. Her acronym BARF (Back Off, Admit, Redirect and Forgive), from More Beauty, Less Beast comes back into play in this book as well.
As always, Debora's books make excellent women's bible study group guides for discussion, and I think this one would also be excellent for teens, for them to learn to how to deal with fears before they happen, and the ones they are already dealing with.
This book is written as a "small group study," and I wouldn't mind studying this book with a group of ladies. There is a lot of theology in this book, but you will find a lot of humor. her quotes are either poignant or hilarious. I just have to share my favorite quote:
"If at first you don't succeed, skydiving it not for you!"
I would recommend this book to every woman in the church. I learned so much, and I plan to go back to this book again and again. I can hardly wait to read her next book!
I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
I love her acronym for what to do when you are angry - BARF -
B: Back off - Walk away to gain a new perspective
A: Admit - identify your emotions in order to deal with them.
R: Redirect - Refocus your emotions in a healthier direction
F: Forgive - First forgive your offender and then forgive yourself.
I highly recommend this book!
