Imagine my disappointment half way thru book 1 when I was just done!! I kept turning each page in hopes Kate would die. I am so completely angry, annoyed, and disturbed with how ignorant the heroine was. Through out both books she continued to go on about what a great mom she was and blah blah blah. Given every single stupid decision this woman made she was by far a terrible mom. Yes I'm judging here. Tell me what married woman in her right mind takes home some thug she just met moments ago introduces him to her children, etc. Kate continuously put her desires before that of her children and family. I wasn't at all convinced of any chemistry between her or either of her lovers not that of her husband. Everything felt artificial.
Needless to say by book 2 I just wanted to be done I already bought the books so I felt I needed to finish. Ugghhhh the stories just got worse along with her stupid decisions. Honestly the ONLY person I started to like was the Husband Robert. No matter what the reason he did everything to protect his family. Jaylee is at one moment just average and the next speaks like a ignorant child. There were so many holes left in the story. And the end WTF??!! The baby WTF!!??? I never have been so irritated. I wanted to give less stars but like I said in the beginning I read another book by Mara White so I know she has genius. This book for me just was not it. I saw some potential. Kate's bad decisions and drama were simply over the top. I know most of the reviews about this book are excellent and everyone is praising Kate while disposing Robert. Sorry folks I'm team Robert he was the only sensible person in the book I would have liked to know him more.
Loved every page and I will continue to read Mara's work. I am a true fan.
