The prologue grabbed me right off. I loved it, and the writing was beautiful (something I noticed throughout the novel). I adored some of the metaphors used. I thought the story was fascinating and well-told, and the characters were likeable. There was even the obligatory character I have a crush on (D'tanesse, maybe partially because I love his name, but mostly just because I really like him).
I found myself rushing through it at times because I wanted to know what happened, and I think sometime in the future I'll have to read it again, take my time, and just savor some beautiful story telling.
