About the Author

B.B., ALSO KNOWN as Bebe, found her passion for romance when she read her first romance novel by Susan Johnson at a young age. She would sneak into her mother's closet for books and even sometimes the attic. It soon became a hobby, and later an addiction, influencing her life in a positive way. Bebe is fresh out of undergrad college and has always wondered about the existence of her talent. When she finally decided to pick up a metaphorical pen and start writing, she found a new way to embrace her passion. She favors a romance that isn't always easy on the eyes or heart, and loves to see characters grow--characters who are seemingly doomed from the start but find love anyway. Fear Me, her debut novel, is the first of many.

First off, I have to say that B.B. Reid is one of my favorite authors. Her characters are sexy, heartbreaking and so damn frustrating! I can't get enough! I've re-read "Fear Me/Fear You" about 4 times now. It's what I pick back up when I'm in a book rut or just need a Kieran fix. Solid 10 star books!
With this book, I LOVED the beginning. I thought the way Keenan manifested in to his character was 100% on the mark. I know a lot of readers didn't like it, but he was brilliantly written! From what we saw of him in the end of the previous book, to what we see now 4 years later, was exactly right. The same goes for Sheldon. I devoured ever written word.
But sadly, this is not a book I could read over and over again.
I'll explain why...

****This next part of my review may contain SPOILERS****

My issues with this book came when, even at 70%, there was no character development. The hatred, the drama, the bad decisions...nothing seemed to be moving forward. It became a little repetitive.
Keenan: "I HATE YOU!"
Sheldon: " I HATE YOU BACK!"
Keenan: "YOU BROKE ME!"
Sheldon: "YOU BROKE ME TOO!"
Multiply that by 2,000 and that's what you get until 97% of the way through. It was dragged out way too long for my taste. I was over them. Giving me 3% of HEA, wasn't enough to convince me they were solid again, especially for marriage. At one point, Sheldon was upset that Keenan had finally given into her demands of leaving them alone, even though she told him to do exactly that.
I also felt that, even though 4 years had passed, they were just as immature as they were in high school. The immature name calling, the yelling, the sulking, the "I'm going to say hurtful things because you did". Ugh. It all became tiresome.

I wanted to give it more stars, but Keenan did things I just couldn't forgive. If you read the first two books you know Keenan cheated on Sheldon multiple times, well in my opinion once a cheater always a cheater. His excuses were weak to say the least and I don't buy um. He burnt her because she for once had a backbone( for a little while anyway.)and left his cheating butt. On to my next problem,Sheldon was completely spineless and just a accepted his abuse and philandering. When her child was missing she was more worried about Getting it on with Keenan than her child. So I couldn't like her. Finally the murder in the tattoo shop was completely unnecessary and cold blooded and didn't need to happen.

Fear Us is a no holds barred novel. Did you get that? Again, NO HOLDS BARRED!! If you believe in sunshine, rainbows and unicorns this is not the novel for you. Keenan will not only push your limits but test them as well while showing you that even when the sun is shining, a shadow of darkness can be casted.

This novel jumps time, taking us four years into the future. A future where Sheldon is still trying to get over her past she had with Keenan. She's moving on with her life, finishing up her last year of college, so of course seeing Keenan again was the last thing she expected.

Especially when he comes back with only one objective. Get his clutches back in her or ruin her while trying.

Keenan has been a broken, tortured man every since that night four years ago when he left town. Drowning in the blackness covering his heart, he doesn't care about anyone or anything any longer. No one but Shelly, even though he'd rather not. When a situation arises that sends him back a whole new game of cat and mouse will ensue.

Where Sheldon is very stubborn and pushes Keenan at every turn, Keenan is set in his ways and will not show her any mercy. I mean seriously, he was not messing around!! At one point I was like "Freaking, Sheldon! Listen to HIM!!," legit screaming at my kindle as an attempt to save her from his wrath.

Fear Us will eat away at your soul as the angst in this novel coils itself tightly around your neck. From that note in the beginning written by B.B to Keenan that without a doubt destroyed a piece of me, until the very last page is a journey. One that will break your heart at times, steal your breath at others, and twist your gut into a big ball of anxiety from one scene to the next.

The Broken Love Series by B.B. Reid continues with Fear Us. We have gotten glimpses of Keenan throughout the the series. This is his and Sheldon's story. A story surrounding a man full of hate, and a woman filled with love. Keenan has been hardened to a point where he cannot understand love. "Her love was a lie. Love was just that. A lie."
Is it possible for Keenan to think this way of Sheldon? A woman who stood beside him through times in his life that caused her pain to do it. If she left, does that mean her love is a lie? Or is it a way to protect herself?

I could not believe as I was reading how far Keenan had pulled away from all that he had ever known. He appeared to be beyond heartless and uncaring. Two emotions that he chose to control his life. He had hardened to an unrecognizable man to those who knew him.

Unrecognizable to everyone but Sheldon. Keenan is part of her soul. She can sense him...sense he was there before he spoke. She could also sense he was not the same person.
"I could tell instantly, without ever speaking a word, he was nothing like the boy I fell in love with. This person who had returned to me four years later was a cold shell of him."

Keenan was lost to himself within a situation where Sheldon needs him more than ever. It is Keenan and Sheldon's story but so much more. Each page I turned was more exhilarating. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. The pages are filled with heartache, pain, mystery and suspense. The story is part love lost between brothers. It is partial hatred between friends. Thank you, B.B. Reid. Thank you for this twisting winding story filled with hateful love. The characters you create make us love to hate them and hate to love them. I can't wait for more.

I received an ARC for an honest review.
