Could this be any worse than series 5 and the slightly, but not much, better series 6? My answer is...so far, Yes it can and does. What are the writers and producers thinking??? I have watched 6 episodes, and each ep features one or two characters with their own story. Little or no continuity between episodes. So ep 1 features Victor in his magnificent sanctuary. Ep 2 has Morgan and Grace (boring). Ep 3 features Keith Carradine again boring. Ep4 has ex marine Sarah being unpleasant and looking for her friend Wendell (remember him? In a wheelchair!!). Ep 5 has Dwight and Sherry and it's a bit more pacey and watchable. Ep 6 features the most boring of all (apart from Morgan) - AL and her camera and SWAT vehicle. The long conversations between her and Morgan do go on and on, and her quest for her friend is very uninvolving. No DEBNAM-CAREY - why? The only character to have been in every series and once again she is seemingly pushed into the background. The other problem is the gap between series means that I have forgotten some of the charcters and the part they play. That's my problem. Hopefully not yours. Filmed very claustrophobically with a pervading yellow tint, and with the cast frequently wearing full face gas masks (thus making identifying a bit of a problem, I am only continuing because I am a completist for my sins, and I WILL see this to the bitter end! Now lets wait for the 5 star reviews. It will be fun to see if I am in a minority - I expect I am!......LATER 22/11/22 I have now watched all episodes. I will rather grudgingly admit that after episode 6 the series did improve slightly, but for me, not by much. Still way too much DEBATE as my wife said. Every decision has to be "debated" and argued about, when serious action is needed. The penultimate episode looked good for the final one. All will hopefully be recolved?? NO SPOILER! Well no it isn't. Instead of finishing properly we are introduced to a new character, new bad guys, and the return of an old character (Why I am still not sure). And again we are left with the knowledge that series EIGHT is sadly inevitable! Still waiting for good 5 star reviews! I so wanted to enjoy FTWD but after series 5 it is only completist fetish that keeps me going!
